      Immediate pay rise, lots of lunches, lots of “team retreats” to exotic locations etc

      It’s not like they need to spend time thinking of new features for Gnome because all they do is look at Apple and copy that.

        But they do need time to think about what existing features to drop. Like taking away the ability of users to change wallpapers could be the next big step towards Gnome minimalism.

        PS: The devs are of course welcome to do as they please, because it’s their project and I don’t have to use it, but I find the stripping away of features to be hilarious. The best one in recent times was that new Console application they introduced to replace the perfectly functional Gnome-Terminal application. The new one basically had no features at all; not even the ability to set the terminal window size (or in fact, no preferences / settings at all in the menu). I read a Gnome dev even stated that their new terminal application is actually for people who do not use a terminal :D
