I just noticed how disgustingly sticky mine is. #blech
Never. How else am I to assure good grip for tight corners?
Y’all nasty.
Don’t remember the last time… I’ll go check how dirty it is and give and update.
Edit : totally forgot to update, but it was surprisingly… Not that dirty? There’s obvious smudging from fingers and all, but not that much real dirt. Apart from the back. Oh my fucking god. PTSD from what I’ve seen.
I drive a vehicle that’s old enough to be elected president in the US… it’s been in my family for 20+ years, and I don’t think any of us have washed the steering wheel, shift knobs, door handles, or window cranks.
LOL. Yeah, I’m right behind you…my daily driver is a '93 Civic…
Yes I have found a microfiber cloth that works very good and easy, and I clean it every day now (only the glass)
I’m ashamed to say, despite it being touched, coughed and breathed on so often, nowhere near enough
I have a cover on mine.
No judgment on those who don’t, but every two weeks. I got in the habit of cleaning the touch-heavy surfaces of my car when I got back in it after grocery shopping—three guesses as to when I started doing this—and I just haven’t stopped.
Just bought a great CPO car a week ago, so… I’ve never cleaned it.
But in general, I use steering wheel covers that I change maybe once a year.
I don’t drive that much, only like once a week. My wife also drives it once a week (we share). In the winter, we often wear gloves. So it doesn’t get too grimey.
The subway here is how I commute to work or enjoy nights out. If it’s super late or I’m lazy, an Uber will pick up the slack.
I started cleaning it when covid hit. After I sanitize my hands in the car I’ll wipe my hands off around the wheel and my key since I usually forget until after I’ve gotten in and started the car up. I do it less often now, but every time I pump gas for sure.
I drive a Tesla and the steering wheel never gets dirty at all 🤷♂️
