Can you give RBC (royal bank of Canada) banking app a shot for me if you don’t mind?
Can you give RBC (royal bank of Canada) banking app a shot for me if you don’t mind?
Thanks Scotty!
Tbh your stuff is awesome as well. So is buddy you’re replying to, but I recognise your username for always having the perfect trek reaction gifs/jpegs and that’s what I appreciates about you Mr.ummthatguy
Asking this question on lemmy is like going to a Linux comm and asking if it’s a good idea to switch from windows to Linux. You’re preaching (asking?) to the choir.
That said, eat the fucking rich.
Thank you for the help, it’s much appreciated!
Edit: Can I use that function to backup my current Plex data and transfer it to a docker container? I’ve heard using docker is much easier to share between different installations based off of previous questions I’ve asked in this community.
It’s stored in the same place as piss? That can’t be!
Born and raised here. It’s nice if you love the outdoors and nature, but if that’s not a big draw for you then our CoL is absolutely insane for such a boring and small place. Paying 2760 per month for a run down shithole 3 bedroom in a shitty neighbourhood fucking sucks and unless you have a degree, you have to work some kind of labour job to make decent money. Most of those are either camp jobs or require a vehicle cause they’re out of range of the public transit.
It is a beautiful place and our summers are short but amazing, but like I said it’s awfully boring if you’re not an outdoorsy person. The winter is also long, dark, and very cold.
I only got into it 3ish years ago, originally pirating it cause I was broke at the time, but I bought it as soon as I could with my first paycheque from my current job. Absolute god tier game with god tier devs. I would’ve pre-ordered (heresy, I know) Space Age if they let me, but I bought it day one. I’ve already got 617 hours on the steam version, and I probably put about 5-600 hours into the pirated version before I could afford it.
Love me some Factorio and Wube. 2nd favorite game of all time behind Super Metroid.
I personally play it through steam but I’ve had an account there for a decade now so that doesn’t bother me. But Factorio allows you to buy directly from their website if you prefer. This also bypasses steams cut I would assume (correct me if that’s wrong please) and you get a steam key with the purchase in case you do ever make a steam account.
You do need to make an account on their website to do that so apologies if that disqualifies it for you. Wube is a rare shining example of a god tier company though, finding a bug is literally a meme in the Factorio community cause of how thoroughly polished the game is. They even fix bugs that exclusively affect mods and not the base game.
Even in my motherboard’s BIOS, the Windows bootloader is no longer showing up. I’m wondering if by removing what used to be my primary Windows install, it also removed the Windows bootloader. I still have a USB with a live install of Windows, can I use that to re-add the Windows bootloader?
Thank you for the help BTW! It’s much appreciated.
One of my two separate 2TB SSds running Bazzite is my boot drive. I have 2 more seperate physical drives, a 1TB running Windows and a 2TB running CachyOS.
Edit: Not sure if it matters, but my 2TB SSD running (what used to be my primary Windows install) CachyOS is in the first NVME slot, my other 2TB SSD running Bazzite (primary boot option) is in the 2nd NVME slot and the 1TB SSD running Windows is in the 3rd NVME slot.
Tbh the bigger instances need to bite the bullet and defederate from .ml. There are alternatives to all the good comms on .ml, they just aren’t as active. Defederating would move a lot of users onto the alternatives and get some control back from the terrible .ml mods and admins.
Banning people from multiple completely unrelated comms for something that happened in one comm is bullshit and they abuse the hell out of that. I generally try not to participate in any .ml comm because of that.
.ca is good as well, the admin is top tier and very transparent with the userbase. I’m quite happy with my instance.
I know how to use all my OS’ to access my media library, I have a 12TB HDD that contains all my TV shows and movies, I just want to be able to carry over my watch history on Plex. I’d switch to Jellyfin, but AFAIK they don’t have an app for Xbox which both my brother and mom use to access my library, that’s why I’m stuck on Plex.
I’ve heard about running Plex media server in docker, how do I go about doing that and keeping my current data and watch history? I’m sorry, I’m still fairly new to Linux despite using it for 5 months so I’d appreciate any help!
In a perfect world I would have a seperate PC to run Plex media server, but I can’t afford a 2nd PC to act as a server so I’m stuck using my main desktop as my media server. I just want to be able to keep my watch history between different installations of Linux.
Thanks for the help though! Much appreciated!
I’ve been daily driving Bazzite for about 3 months now and am really enjoying it. It’s a gaming focused ‘immutable’ distro.
I was planning to delete a bunch of stuff off of my old Windows drive anyways, so I’ll just backup my important stuff that I wanna keep and then do a fresh reinstall on the new SSD so that I can wipe the old 2TB SSD Windows used to live on. Even 1TB is being generous but I’d rather have too much space than not enough!
There’s nothing terribly important on there, it’s mainly just my modded Bethesda games I’ve put a lot of effort into that I’m to lazy to recreate under Linux so I’d rather just keep a small Windows disk alive for when I feel like playing them and for any edge cases that pop up that require me to use Windows.
Thank you for the answer!

Hey thanks a lot! I appreciate that you took time out of your day to check for me :)
