I use a green laser pointer to sight my telescope…
I’m careful there’s no planes or anything but all the same.
I aim to be more human. I aim to be less apathetic as a human. Apathy grows, like a tree, and I aim to prune my own.

This is far more entertaining than it has any right to be.

Why?
I haven’t had whattaburger since like 2008, but I used to absolutely love it, especially the triple triple. That was a great betting burger.
My driveway still has glitter from when I painted my hospital table… 9 years ago.
It needs to be repainted due to heavy use, and I like the glitter (plus I still have a big container of it, and wasting plastic is worse than using it), but I’m not looking forward to purple herpes for another decade.
I think I’ll suspend it in swirls in resin this time to be permanent, and keep more depth than the spray epoxy layer I used last time. Then I won’t have to do this again.
(I wouldn’t buy non-biodegradable glitter anymore, this stuff has been around for most of my life… I got it in the early 2000s when I was in HS for some project or other, and I do my absolute best to contain it when I use it, but it’s glitter.)
What sucks is when you end up super frustrated getting everything to fit, so you rip apart the drawer and put everything back in all nice and wow would you look at that you can fit everything and close it easily!
For two days. Tops.

I wouldn’t call that a pack, rather, a box of packs of gum.
I mean unless you mean just one of those packs, which still isn’t that big, but is indeed bigger than a standard 5-stick pack.
Idk maybe he had one of those fruit stripe gum packs that had like 30 sticks in it, but that’s the biggest one I can think of and it’s still not that big, tho probably enough to be mistaken for a chub. That’s why I ask if they were bigger options then.
Were packs of gum bigger back then, or is this a self-own?
Ok but I think the residents have a point here.
I’ve been using it for almost a year now.
It… works well enough. I really have no complaints, tho it does have some cookies, which I could do without (I don’t care to track how many trees I’ve contributed to planting, and I’d like a no tracking option) but that’s a pretty small complaint when I clear cookies frequently anyway. If you use ghostery or some other extension that auto-rejects cookies and randomizes data for those it can’t reject, you’ll be fine.
The sponsored listings are clearly labeled, the results typically come up fine. There do seem to be more sponsored results than there used to be, though, so… something to be aware of.
It’s not perfect but it’s a lot better than google, and they use the money for trees (I did look into that claim and it’s true as far as I can tell)
Oh yeah no the entire run is going to be fenced in, I live in town and that’s a requirement. I’m going to have the run tall enough that I can exist in it with them comfortably, but they won’t be able to go anywhere and raccoons aren’t a concern.
My property only qualifies for this due to being next to a commercial use property, so I don’t have residential neighbors on one side and behind, meaning I conform to the distance-to-neighbor-dwelling rule. It’s all very strict.
The doggy door is for air insulation purposes, install two of those in a small tunnel and you have an airlock of sorts. Not perfect, sure, but helpful for drafts until it needs to be locked down.
Edit: sorry I see this is 4mo old… I just came across the community…
Yes, it’s called parthenogenesis. It’s pretty rare in larger animals (tho fish, insects, and reptiles/amphibians use it much more successfully) but it’s been observed in turkeys, at a rate of about 4%, and up to 15% in some strains of chickens, tho not heavily studied, and usually not actually fertile (as in they never fully develop).
Here’s a thing with more info on that if you’d like to learn more :)
It’s funny to me, but one of my highest ratios was on a torrent that never even finished. It was active for many months stuck at 98%, and the seed never came back. So many people started that one, downloaded what was available, then scrapped the whole thing and found another option…
I’d uploaded ~500gb of a 6gb torrent.
That’s the joy/pain of wanting stuff nobody has available…
When I get decent sleep, I often lucid dream. I didn’t really practice, I’m just usually aware that I’m dreaming (maybe because I’m on drugs to suppress nightmares, so I’m just really aware of dreams).
I have a dream town I frequent, it’s… usually interestingly mundane though. I don’t need excitement often, just things I can’t do in real life, like taking stuff I want (collectibles!!), playing free at the arcade, eating free in fancy places, drinking free in the nice socializing bar, breathing underwater or flying sometimes if it fits the exploration…
It’s a really consistent sort of place that just grows over time, as more places are added and incorporated as welcoming spaces to explore. There’s even a glass water garden/aquarium/pool that reminds me of some final fantasy shit. And recently a massive underground transit structure was added on that has high-speed shuttles to different large attractions, and a whole new residential tower (for some reason I have a room on the 4th floor, it might be a college dorm), so that was an excellent confusing dream to have for several days.
There’s a house in it that’s sort of my landing pad. A mix of a lot of places I’ve lived or been that just keeps growing over time. It’s got dozens of spaces to explore that mix in things I want and things I know, and just some creepy huge empty spaces that will probably get filled in later but are just full of weird junk I haven’t unpacked at the moment.
I like to just explore the town and surrounding areas, and do things with random people. I don’t really do that in life anymore, so. I’d love to build it in VR but I have no idea how to do that. It seems perfectly suited for it.
I used to get a lot of false awakenings when I pushed too hard to control the story or environment, and I found those to be wildly unpleasant (nightmare reasons), so I don’t exert much control now. I can, but it’s more fun to go with the fantastical and let the adventure play out, fully aware that this new space I’m dreaming about is going to be a recurring space I can explore again in different ways later.
I think you might have missed something in your zeal, which is fine. We need more passion about such things. Just directed the right way.
But the point being made before your comment was that anyone should be allowed to sleep -at least in their own- car, which you seem to agree with. And any public parking places where a car can sleep should be fine for a human to also sleep within said car, which you also seem to agree with.
This isn’t about having a car or not, and its not really about sleeping in a car you find, it’s about how it’s used if it is owned by the person who wants to use it that’s being discussed. So if someone already owns a car and wants or needs to live out of it, we can agree that’s ok (everyone involved in this thread is agreeing here). And if there’s a place that is appropriate for cars to be whether anyone is in them or not, that place should be fine with people sleeping as well. (Pretty sure everyone is agreeing with that, too)
So, everyone agrees, yay! No need to condescend when everyone agrees with you :)
If you want to expand the topic to shelter wherever you find it, that’s a great conversation to have. It’s just not actually the one being had.
It certainly has become one for me at any rate…
I used to care a lot about everything, and now I’m just so so tired of trying. Apathy feels like a poplar grove; just keeps growing, spreading, and outcompeting everything else until it takes over and ruins everything, because it takes an absolute ton of energy control spread.
Honestly it’s just so useful. It should be the default.
I picked it up when I lived in Houston, but when I was bartending and stuff after returning to my home state, I’d use it heavily.
Interestingly, though, it made people think I was from another country entirely? Because in absolutely no other way do I sound even remotely southern. (I do use various non-American slang, but not with strangers) Was always a blast to have someone ask where I was from, and try to get them to pinpoint why they didn’t think I was local, when I was born 15 minutes from where the conversation was taking place :p
how does pop handle touchscreen devices, do you know? The only machine I have left that I’d install something different on is my laptop, and its touchscreen but fully discretionary. The others are a server which I’m not touching because PITA, and a shitty ram-deficient thing I use for watching Plex in my bedroom, but it doesn’t run anything well at all for whatever reason - I tried antixlinux, mint, and a few other lightweight distros, and they all ran like shit. Probably failing hardware, idk.
Ubuntu handles touchscreen and hdmi output ok, it seems, but that laptop is still windows for now because idk if I need it to be windows for my next job… I guess I can reinstall it, since keys are hardware encoded now… for that device I don’t -really- need good file management, just compatibility.
I’ve thought about pop, but never really looked into it because nobody ever, like, recommends it for anything I guess? Like I never hear about it…
That’s why I’m careful, but there have been times I’ve swung it too far when the adjustment slips, so… very quick path from totally fine to felony.
