You are missing the attribution. The person you are replying to is making a joke that Canonical says they are the same, not that they are actually the same.

No source. Funny but fake.
Sounds like someone wants their name added to the list

Thats what the dutch east India company wants you to think
Hard disagree.Plex inserts itself I to everything, and dear god is it slow by comparison.
Didn’t even notice the word the first time around, and before I read your replying assumed it was a portmanteau of medication and predicament. French could work. Dunno why the loan word though.
Nova launcher is a data harvester. You should be aware.
Ordinary claims!
That’s not been my experience.
Granted, printers suuuuuck. But I was legit surprised when both the printing and scanning functions in Linux were hands down better than windows.
Nazis aren’t interested in what communists have to say. A communist, for the record, is anyone a Nazi disagrees with. The only acceptable place for a communist, according to a nazi, is in the ground. If you want to let Nazis come for you, I guess that’s fine for you. When Nazis co.e for your loved ones and you Stans there like a fucking coward and let them take them because “much precious nonviolence” I guess that’s your call.
That’d work, but Sagan opted for portable fax.
Or, and hear me out, you could say “portable fax” and be done with it. YOU are making it complicated by not being culturally acclimated to the timeframe when it was written. Everyone knew what faxes were, no explanation was necessary.
Portable fax: thing that sends and receives messages
Portable Fax IS how you describe SMS in the 80s.
I dont mean that your understanding is unimportant, but that you inherently understand what’s being described to a degree that to hear it described differently than you expect you reject what you hear in favor of assuming the folks in the 80s needed more than “portable fax” to understand what you are on about.
How would you describe SMS to people in the 80s?
Tell me you didn’t read the post without telling me you didn’t read the post.
Requirement 3) My job really doesn’t require much more than Office and a browser, but it requires very heavy use of those things. Firefox is fine for the browser, so no trouble there, but I need full fledged Outlook, OneNote and most of the features of Excel at a minimum. […] I will not be able to live with only the browser versions, that I’m 100% sure of.
Exchange is Microsoft’s SMTP server. Its the thing outlook runs on top of. If OP works in the corporate world, there is no “replacement” cause its not his.
Yep, I am agreeing with you. The statement was never snap and deb are identical, its that canonical is making them do identical things.
