Two knobs, man, two knobs (George Carlin)
Hello
Two knobs, man, two knobs (George Carlin)
I just saw a revised death toll in Gaza. Lots of people have been downplaying this. This is only one example.
MAGA is a perfect example. On a national stage even! Hey, where’s that Pence guy?
Yeah. Why go through all the effort to cover up the true nature of your actions if your beliefs and views are so much more balanced. While the speech here may be more absolutist, I don’t think other people who don’t factor in these untruths or use them to make their points have much to add to the conversation. It’s just talking points.
Yeah something you don’t have to further look up to figure out what it means. Just simpler.
That’s the rub. There are generics. And they do work. Still, an ongoing cost, to the tune of 2 or 3 filters in a season. You’re right.
I use a humidifier by AIRCARE. A bit more doing than a simple tabletop, but nothing too complex. It’s a base unit that sits on the floor. Has a removable tank that I fill directly from the tap. I do add a bacteria/algae treatment to about every other fill. Need to replace a filter about once a month (I try to extend it a little longer). And then after the season (about 3-4 months over the winter) I clean the unit. They make different ones, and they’re generally much more powerful than a tabletop unit, albeit with a larger footprint.
Way to go, Canada! You’re on the list (physical market).
No doubt. Same, but your comment made me double check. It was good reading anyway!
I think that blurb is referencing the Doomsday Clock:
the Clock is a metaphor, not a prediction, for threats to humanity from unchecked scientific and technological advances. That is, the time on the Clock is not to be interpreted as actual time. A hypothetical global catastrophe is represented by midnight on the Clock, with the Bulletin’s opinion on how close the world is to one represented by a certain number of minutes or seconds to midnight, which is then assessed in January of each year.
To me, I’ve always associated the PDA with devices w/o the phone capability, pre-smartphones. Those existed. Looked similar to modern smartphones, just bulkier and with less capability. That’s been the distinction for me.
Frankly, the only other word for (cell)phone or mobile has been smartphone. I don’t think we have a better word for them yet (pocket computer just doesn’t grab you).
That’s my understanding as well, about putting blood on the door frame. I omitted that. You may be correct about the rest.
At the Jewish holiday of Passover, as the story goes, the final act of God to convince the Egyptian Pharoah to free the Jewish slaves was to send an “angel of death” to slaughter all the first born children of the Egyptians. The Jews would be spared, or passed over.
I know you only asked if this headline was something of a joke, but I wanted to add a little context, maybe it’s relevant maybe it’s not. I think it is. I think it’s the kind of thinking that allows one to overlook these kinds of atrocities. Even call out others for their concern over your actions that are harming innocent people. Religion is cancer.
I have recently discovered Qobuz (French company). You can purchase digital music. They aren’t cheap, but they have selection and hi-res music (sometimes 24 bit).
But good on you for the CDs, too!
Maybe put some pants on first
An important lesson for life.
I wish I had one of these again. I used to use a combo printer/scanner back in the day. Good for scanning CDs for their cover art, ones that are harder to simply find good art for already on the internet (when ripping those CDs into digital files).
It’s a voluntary captured audience. They will see it because they go there already. Doesn’t matter about the quality. They don’t care anyway.
Could learn a lesson or two from that MySpace Tom guy. He might have been my first friend on that site, but he never made a peep after that! I respect him for that.
They wanna play with your emotions. It takes years to sink in. Some people never get it.
