I think this is about another issue. The article says they removed the view image button, which is not the issue here. On Firefox mobile, or any browser with a user agent other than chrome, you cannot zoom on an image, or open the context menu where you can share it, save it, open it in a new tab …
They basically override the default image behavior to make it awful to use if your user agent is not chrome.
The article mentions the extension “make google search great again” which is slightly different from “google search fixer” that only changes your user agent.
Edit : my bad I misread the post, you are right op want the view image button which was removed because of Getty image. So for that there is the extension “make google search great again”
It isn’t easy to create sockpuppets because in case of a fight like here, Wikipedia decisions are taken by the oldest members. 20 new accounts can’t override the decision of a 10 years old account with a lot of contributions.
Wikipedia has its issues, but not this one.
