It isn’t law yet though, and it is the current iteration that Google won’t follow. We have yet to see how they will react if it actually becomes law. My guess is that they will, begrudgingly, bend the knee.

I suppose search engines should ask you which maps provider you want and then show results based on that.
Google could have done that, but they chose to go this router to inconvenience users, so that they then could blame the EU for this.
To be fair, the same argument can be applied both ways.
Depends, he might not be a giver!
Heh, I do have link previews on, and I’ll never forget XcQ. But the joke is on you, I’ll always listen to that banger!
Not really related, but I believe this is the first time I’ve seen an emoji as a link 🤯
Your Lie in April
Such a great show! It slows down a bit in the middle, but gets going again!
I assume so, but I’m not sure where. I’ll have to Google it later
Also based in the EU, and mine were turned on
I also choose this guy’s Crohns.
We got to do something simular in uni. We modeled the CPU in VHDL and had to set up our own language, then we were to program a game for it. One of the most fun and interesting courses we got to do!
Lance’s interviews are just the cherry on top!
That reminds me of the mockumentary Tour de Pharmacy. It’s star-studded, and it’s only 40 mins long. But it is great! (Lance is in it)
I don’t know much about the technology, so I can’t comment on that. But I don’t really see politicians pushing for this, at least not succesfully. There are too many rightwing obstructionists in most Western governments right now…
It’s way less than that. 2.39x10^20 is around 4% of 5.8x10^21. Not even close to “almost as much”. Looks like the authors don’t know their powers of 10. So if we dedicate 5% of the total energy for one year it could theoretically be done.
Yep, it’s close to 4% of the total. Not really “almost as much”.
Sure, but it also only counts book time. If you listen 2x it’s only 7.5 hours.
Nah, what’s worse is that it’s only 15(!) hours per month!
Not that I know of… Most of the time I forget to change, but since the second post I see is an ad 90% of the time I usually realize my mistake very quickly.
Yeah, I definitely misread the article, my bad! I doubt the EU will let it stand when it’s enacted.
