Took me 25 minutes to buy a $4 brake light bulb at wal mart one night. After tracking down an employee to track down another employee to meet me by the glass door. I’ll never buy car bulbs there again. That portion of store is dead to me.

No. Laptops are still laptops. You’re just choosing not to use them as such. In fact, they’re more lap friendly now than they originally were. With how you describe using yours, you should just have a mini pc instead of a laptop.
Solved in what other ways? Having a portable laptop you have to carry around with a 2nd monitor and find a place to set up is a pain if you actually do stuff on the go and aren’t just using your laptop to move from like a desk at home to a desk at your office.
I’d never want to carry around a 2nd monitor or find a place to set it when using a "lap"top. A 2nd monitor is great for a desktop.

The no gain part I’ll argue against. Having two browser windows open and getting to see both would be really nice a ton of times. Or one browser and a document/pdf whatever.
Like having a Netflix show running up top while doing work on the bottom half. Or writing a paper while having reference material open and visible. Or simply just reading an article without having to scroll as often.
Usage wise, a tall screen would have tons of usage. I just wouldn’t pay an extra $2,000+ for the privilage of it. I’d definitely pay like an extra 20% or so to have it, though.

I drove in the before times. You have any idea how much of a pain in the ass it was to use a paper map or look at written directions and miss a turn? Do you realize how great it is to type in “food near me” and see everywhere you might want to stop for a bite to eat and right where it’s at? That I can youch a business name on the screen and it will show me its hours they’re open? How n8ce it is that I don’t even have to look away from the road and have nice lady robot voice tell me to turn right 2 miles?

Holy shit. I gues lemmy is a pretty young place for you to say something so completely wrong and get so many upvotes for it. Most cars have been “unleaded gasoline only” since the mid to late 70"s.
Think about it. Do you think those cars from the 1990’s still on the road today have all had engine and fuel pump swaps on them to run unleaded? Heck no. Most all the cars you’re going to find from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s all still say “unleaded fuel only” by the gas gauge. Most gas stations in the 1980’s didn’t even offer leaded gasoline.
Well sure it’s racist, but it’d be more racist if they created the day and put it there solely out of spite.
