Another point for nuclear, it actually works when it’s not sunny and windy. Hot still days in the summer when everyone wants AC? No wind power. Terrible winter days that are super windy with no sun? Still no wind power because the wind is now too strong and will hurt the turbines, and no sun. Where’s the heat coming from? Renewable sources are great, but the amount of storage they would need to be practical as a primary source of electricity is a bit prohibitive.

I’m just trying to build wealth and just entered the market, so I’m not too excited for me, but it needs to happen. It’s a basic necessity that the majority of people can’t afford, how is that okay? I will lose a bunch if the market crashes and probably never be able to achieve my goals, but its not very feasible right now anyway. I wanted a hobby farm, thats never going to happen regardless. Having a bunch of posts taken from another site with no real interaction with OP or anyone else isn’t driving traffic here, it’s boring the people who come here for discussion. The actual user posts will get drowned out by the huge number of reddit scraped posts. If something is interesting and fits a community here, post it. But scraping reddit to lemmy isn’t really helping as much as it might seem.

I work in HR. Im also working on getting the fuck out of HR. Not into anything techy, though. I came here from reddit just before rif died.

I really used reddit to lurk and scroll when I was bored. If I can’t use the app I’m used to, there is no reason for me to return. Especially with the way they have been treating the community, I havent been back for about 3 weeks. I downloaded a lemmy app and put that in the same spot as rif was, and I havent looked back.
