Some of it will eventually escape around the sides, but some of the airflow your fan creates just circulates humid air around the inside of the dishwasher.

Turning your fan around solved both problems. It increased the volume of air flow, and decreased the relative humidity of the air flow.

the federation system is inherently unstable - there’s a positive feedback loop where the instance with the most users attracts the most new users. new users have no to way to gauge the quality of moderation of an instance, and neither do disgruntled current users. additionally, members of smaller instances are less visible, which is an incentive to join a larger instance.

“what instance?” is a rhetorical question, and the only possible answer is “never heard of it.” because there is no means by which a user could have become aware of other instances, regardless of the quality of those other instance’s moderation

The market didn’t need regulations to maintain its freeness back then because the vast majority of transactions were made with small businesses. The limited technological capabilities in transport and communication also decreased the need for government regulation by decreasing the ability of the largest concentrations of capital to succeed at implementing global anti-competitive strategies.

To achieve the same degree of market freedom today, in the era of omni-national mega-corporations wielding monopoly influence, requires utilizing levers of power outside of the market those mega-corps dominate. Once the agglomerations of capital became large enough to impose irresistible anti-competitive force, the days of capitalism’s beneficial functionality ended. They say “the freer the market the freer the people”, but an unregulated market isn’t free - it invariably trends toward monopoly and irrationally assigned concentrations of wealth and power, eg Musk, Bezos, DuPont, Sackler, etc…

Capitalism supports, rather than resists, the anti-competitive influence of capital. A truly free market requires the intervention of powers other than capital - eg, democratic governance imposing something akin to Market Socialism against the wishes of those anti-competitive agglomerations of capital.

Kinda. The RCS is fueled by two fluids that spontaneously combust when mixed: N2H4 and N2O4, aka hydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide (or dinitrogen tetraoxide).

If the N2H4 gets hot enough, it will exothermically decompose into a large volume of hot gas. Its sometimes used as a monopropellant - squirt some of it onto a catalyst and direct the gas out a rocket nozzle, and you’ve got a simple, reliable thruster. Mixing it with N2O4 produces hotter gas, resulting in a thruster that gets about 35% higher fuel efficiency.

Problems with the helium system could make hydrazine decomposition in the fuel lines more likely to happen. One of the ways the hydrazine is kept cool while its in the fuel lines is via high flow rate, but that requires the fuel tank to be pressurized by helium - clearing the fuel lines after thruster shutdown may also require helium. Low pressure could lead to lower flow rate and possibly cause cavitation (which can cause tiny spots of very high heat), which could in turn cause the hydrazine to decompose in the fuel lines/tank. At that point, mixing with N2O4 would be overkill - Starliner would already be destroyed before the oxygen started burning.
