For me. I don’t care about resolution after I’ve downloaded it. Heck, I don’t need to know the resolution before downloading, I can tell by the file size.

To be fair, this was ~12 years ago and the web has changed a lot since then. But being able to submit a form without js still seems reasonable to me… it also means you are doing proper backend validation. Something I’ve noticed newer devs sometimes have no concept of.

When I led a small dev team making an ecom site I pushed this approach to JavaScript–you should be able to create an account, manage your cart, and check out without JavaScript. All extras with JavaScript just enhance this functionality. Add to cart without leaving the page, a mini cart, client side validation.

Sadly with the rise of SPAs, this concept is totally out the window.

Median new car price is $46k, so $21k after tax credit for a used car is very doable for many.

They’re insanely cheap RIGHT NOW. lol

You can get a used 2018-2020 Tesla (or any other brand) for $25k and then $4k back through a tax credit.

A tractor trailer FULL of solar panels would be great!

Putting solar on moving vehicles makes no sense except for very specific use cases.

Install those same panels on the ground and you can point them at a good angle for sunlight capture 24/7, don’t have to literally carry the weight of them everywhere, don’t have to worry about them getting dirty all the time from moving around winter roads, and are much easier to repair.

That could be avoided by using on prem properly, too. People are very capable of making bad infrastructure whether on prem or cloud.

I used to like bootstrap. Still do. But it has some faults… Depending on your needs you’re loading a lot of CSS you aren’t using.

Bootstrap 5.3 is 59kb before gzip. 6700 lines of code. That’s a lot to just apply some simple styles.

There are a ton of lighter weight alternatives nowadays.
