FB has been junk for more than a decade now, AI or no.

I check mine every few weeks because I’m a sports announcer and it’s one way people get in contact with me, but it’s clear that FB designs its feed to piss me off and try to keep me doomscrolling, and I’m not a fan of having my day derailed.

I keep my phone in a Faraday bag because of intrusions like this.

There’s a difference between a fascist and a gutless politician. Trump is the former, Biden is the latter.

The only difference is one says mean things and one doesn’t. That’s it. Biden supported cop cities (and by extension, murderous cops), didn’t do anything to actually make life livable in America for most (and in fact, wanted to make banks report lower balances so they could tax gig workers harder), and enthusiastically supplied WMD’s to a genocide. That to me is pretty darn fascist.

I blame Biden for his record, yes.

LOL, I remember in Biden’s State of the Union when he ridiculed the Defund the Police movement, and it became crystal clear that you were voting fascist no matter who you picked.

Fuck yes Dems should be more discerning, but it’s not like you the voter have any power. It’s the rich picking your candidates for you too.

I do appreciate that he isn’t just pretending Trump is powerless like Democrats always do after the election.

The irony here is that Trump’s coalition was so broad because these minority groups felt abandoned when Biden didn’t fulfill his promises, but everyone here is kind of just pretending Harris would have actually done something for them. Whether it was inflation, cop cities, endless war, abortion repeal, or assisting in the perpetration of child genocide, Dems did a really shitty job.

And for those of you about to whine about ‘both sides-ism’, yes, both of you do lie and make extravagant promises during campaign time, and then always fail to deliver.

But you still vote Democrat and Republican anyway.

Withdraw all of my investment money, hop on a cruise ship, and live in the lap of luxury til I’m ready to die.

I don’t use FB, Twitter, TikTok, etc. I use federated social media but federated social media is moderated, has no algorithm, and no ads, so it’s a very different experience.

I spent my 20’s and early 30’s trudging in a job where I was mistreated, vastly underpaid and struggling. I also have mental health problems and visual impairment that persist to this day, so I’m exceedingly fortunate that I was able to find a better path in life.

I landed a better job in my late 30’s and in the years since I’ve paid off my car, my student loans, bought a condo, and saved a fair amount of money.

Being poor for so long taught me to live cheaply, which I still do even though I could spend more if I wanted to.

The major turning point was March 2020. When some oil stocks dropped below a dollar in value I took every spare dollar I had, bought shares between 30 and 75 cents, and then a few years later sold them for $12 a share. That paid off my student loans and funded the down payment on my home.

But even when I was poor I never didn’t save. It was better to be eating mac-and-cheese and have money in the bank if I needed it than to be surrounded by the latest stuff and have nothing to fall back on.
