Location has been super annoying for me in Fedora. Neither the weather nor the timezone automatically update for me. And I travel every week for work.

We (the US) have farmers markets in a lot of places. They can have very specific times that I always forget about. Around here in the northern climate, the farmer markets stop during the winter or move indoors and shift to selling more jarred and canned goods. My neighborhood has a coop, but it’s more expensive than the grocery store and with a worse selection. We have options here, but they require more thoughtfulness.
I have a bigger fear of what happens to Linux when Torvalds retires. He took a break a while back, and it was an absolute shit show of a power struggle.
You’re kind of proving that fans assumed it. That idea is based on a manual that was never published and, therefore, never officially cannon. Also, if it was the variable geometry nacelles that fixed it, why was the Intrepid class seemingly the only one that had that tech? Why not the Sovereign class developed around the same time, or even the later Odyssey class?
If it’s a good reason then yeah. But that reason would probably mean 9.9 isn’t the max anymore and some other higher number is. They get that extra speed by overloading the engines, which you can do for a brief time. I also assume there is some sort of fuel savings aspect. Aircraft and ships can go much faster than their cruising speeds, but at some point the extra speed isn’t worth the extra fuel. Ships specifically will have a speed at which they’re most efficient at because of the design of their hull, propellers, etc…
Another reason exists for Warp 5 specifically. In an episode of TNG they discovered high warp speed was wrecking subspace, so the Federation imposed a Warp 5 speed limit. They basically ignore this in later series and fans just assume that some new technology made warp more eco friendly.
They’re actually providing a useful service, unlike honey just telling you that no coupons exist.
Yeah, I thought that was odd as well. The thing is, the military doesn’t really care about how much fuel it uses. With mid air refueling, these things already have insane endurance anyway. I worked in command and control at a B-52 base and remember monitoring 18 hour missions. I remember being deployed to Qatar and the base commander bragging about that base using the most jet fuel of any base.
It’s a pretty good looking pig though. It maintains a better combat readiness than the B-1, so they keep it around.
They’re doing it right now. They are re-engining the B-52 and giving it a new designation, B-52J.
I love how much the community has embraced Atomic. Bazzite is making a huge splash.
You think the general population is going to have an easier time understanding the sigmoid function that some simple multiplication and addition?
Give it a shot. Let me see an equation.
How would an infinitely adjusting tax percentage be intuitive? Brackets are simple. You pay x% on your income in some bracket and y% on your income in a different bracket. You only need simple multiplication and addition to figure out what you would owe.
Sounds like a nightmare to try to explain to someone. Technically it should work, but practically it might be difficult.
I thought it was that it didn’t give you a hangover?
Because the time frame that TNG takes place in. It was a peaceful era and the Galaxy Class ship was designed for prolonged exploration and ambassador missions. Due to the long periods in space the Federation designed the ship to accommodate families of the Starfleet officers. That’s also why the ship could separate, the battle bridge could go into combat while the civilians stayed behind in the saucer section. With these long voyages and family aboard they thought it was important to include mental health being an importance, so important that Troi was a bridge officer.
Voyager was a smaller ship made purely for scientific research and wasn’t supposed to be gone for so long. Also, after the discovery of the Borg, the Federation changed their ship designs to have more combat in mind.
Florida would be the better option imo. During that time frame it won’t be tourist season, so those beaches won’t be over crowded either. Florida beaches get kind of nuts at spring break time. The flipside of that is that not everywhere will be open. I visited Destin in Feb before and some of the more tourist spots, like Shed BBQ for example, were closed.
Hawaii overall is nicer and more expensive than Florida, however Florida easily has the better beaches. Snorkeling is going to be better in Hawaii, but the beaches themselves are pretty rocky and kind of mid, to be honest. Florida knows its beaches are the money makers and goes the extra mile to make them nice. The sand is well groomed and it’s that powdery white sand that feels incredible.
It is an appstore for Flatpaks. Flatpaks are a universal app package for Linux that runs in a sort of containerized environment. They’re very prolific in the immutable linux world.
Nah, he’ll get foreign investors to help him and be further owned by foreign governments like he did for X.
