Soo… Asking for a friend… This pornography…
I have a son that is the most important thing in my life. He is 2.5 now, but it took me a year to adjust to my new life, and I am shamed to admit that several episodes could have a been handled better. (No abuse, but daddy getting angry for a toddler being a toddler) It took a toll on the relationships too. Still does since tired people have shorter fuses.
Bottom line now is that he fills me with joy. Watching him learn new thing like how there ia fluff between his toes (and do dad have it too?) to how all water used for painting turns grey. How he practices being a ninja sneaking up on me (but can’t contain his excitement and giggle) The texture of food, and how spaghetti sticks.
Of course you are tired and stressed, and the random pain from unexpected movements when dressing him, or from death dives on the couch is always there. But I would not trade him for anything.
When was he born? Not everyone knows all the “secret” signs for stuff. How 18 is A.H or how 81 is H.A (Hells Angels) 1% biker clubs have surprisingly much of such codes. 8 is also the number of Khorne in the Warhammer fantasy/sci-fi setting. And before we start with that there are surprisingly few Nazis who play, but the few are very vocal.
Years ago I saw a guy in a crocery store in Norway wearing a “Combat18 Böhmen” hoodie. Buying ingredients for tex-mex taco incidentally. And when I pointed him out to my wife, she said that you are probably the only one in here to know this, and spot him for what he is.
So if Andy was born in 1988 I hope it’s why he has 88 in his username.
Fuck the MS suite is such garbage. My work was sold in for Teams with all the BS. Now I have to either map up the filepath creating what we used to have, or I can’t see the file folder and make a call at the same time. Onenote with it’s arbitrary syncing. And good luck finding it again since it stored at some random place if you loose access.
Word and excel is decent, but for a person who likes to tinker with versions it’s a nightmare to invite people to edit it.
Cluncky interface, slow and bloated all around
Same for me. I dont need any of the extra stuff the sub gives outside the basic function of the software.
Pocket Cast is good. But I am now on the end of my “heritage” price, and up for the post price hike price. Debating whether it is worth it.
IG Farben, Krupp, Thyssen, Boss, Porsche and the list goes on and on and on. Fuck I suspect that even my own grandfather “had stripes” (slang for collaboration with Nazis without yourself being proclaimed nazi) and he even fought them during the invasion of Norway.
None of these companies would touch Trump with a 10 foot pole in the situation wasn’t so dire. But he is the next president, and he is known to respond to stuff like this. Bend knee, kiss his ass and carry a huge wad of cash. This is just the cost of doing business, and even if a vocal minority cries out most people still buy iPhones, Teslas and shop at Amazon and Wal-Mart.
I once had access to an ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer) as a student and for fun did analays on water from taps when doing other work (as the machine was already running). Hot and cold. One (hot)tap on the same building as the MS had levels of lead far above the legal limit. Another hot sample almost ruined the sensor with the amount of copper. Hot water ALWAY had way more metals than cold. So, let the tap run for at least ten seconds to flush stagnant water in the pipes and be cautious of using hot water internally.
Not makeup but permanent ink…
It used to be that any DC skating shoe size 12 for me. Could just pick a model and leave the store. Then they became a fashion brand rather than a skateboard brand and suddenly it was made for tiny model feet.
A got older with an older body I just get the Bondi8 for summer and Kaha for winter as HOKA does wide and quarter sizes.
I am semi-literate in “computers”. That means I can build my own PC, do no coding, but manage to troubleshoot most things by sheer stubborness, search and the odd question on a “forum” In other words not afraid of tech.
I can’t be bothered to sift through endless overengineered BS for a PC to do the few things I need it to do these days. Web browser, Steam and streaming, while not scraping every ounce of personal data and sending it to various entities for nefarious purposes. I have Mint, it works out of the box and I don’t have to tinker with it, but enough customizability if I want to.
Have a 2 year old that falls asleep at 9, wakes up at 2:30ish Falls asleep at 4:30 after 2hrs of struggle and the wakes up at 0630.
Think it took 15 seconds before we had this Obvious NSFW https://rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=luce_(vatican)
I have read voraciously all my life. Audiobooks ruined it somewhat, but with a 2 year old I have been adamant that he sees dad with a book, not a phone or e-reader.
I have tried the classics numerous times, but I find them mind numbingly boring. Homer, Tolstoy, Ibsen are so dreary. Better some good fantasy by Pratchett or Gaiman. Found the Slow Horses series to be enjoyable. If you want more classic action perhaps the Musceteer-books by Duma or Sherlock Holmes by Doyle. (Personally very fond of the closed room mysteries by John Dickson Carr
I stopped using Opera the second it wasn’t Norwegian. I use Librewolf on desktop, Waterfox on mobile and Vivaldi as the “clean” browser when something k. Waterfox/Librewolf fucks up an important webpage I have to use
Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern are dead
How could it have been worse. A fucking basic appliance was hijacked. Ofc its not weaponized, that would have made it worse I guess
Pass it forward is a good English phrase we don’t have in my language
Read that Tesla pushes December in Norway for padding end of year numbers, resulting in a stagnant January. I think that concutive stagnant months is what would indicate how sick we are with Musk
