Meh, I prefer Pilsener. Either the Czech stuff or from Northern Germany. Sometimes a nice wheat bear is good too. The only beer one can drink in Bavaria, the rest tastes like shit.

Absolutely. The ones who’ve resigned mentally are fine within their positions. The people with all the business connections and references will be the ones to grab the money and simply start something new. It happened at my company. I was only 3 years in, so it wasn’t enough money for me to quit. But loads of good people left the company.

My wife hated being pregnant. It was the worst time in her life. But once the baby was there, hormones kicked in and all that pregnancy shit was instantly forgotten. Crazy how that works. She would never recommend pregnancy to anyone ever. She also hates how pregnancy is over-romanticized.

But she does recommend kids if you’re willing to commit a large portion of your adult life to be centered around the kid. If helps to live in a country where parents get many benefits like up to 3 years of parental leave, additional vacation days etc. We, as the parents, are having the best time of our lives. It was a difficult decision back then, and it took me until I turned 33 to finally decide to have a kid.

I have a daughter. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. Sounds corny as fuck, but it’s true. I don’t regret a thing. The first 3 years are tough, but also super cute. After that it’s a freaking miracle on 2 legs. Sometimes I think we should have had a second child shortly after but we already put in so much energy to set her up for life. I don’t think we could have extended that for another child. Turns out she’s neurodivergent, just like me. It takes a bit more effort raising someone like that, but it’s totally worth it.

I bet there are people here fuming at my post already because of climate change and whatnot. I believe humanity has faced way worse and yet we’re still here. If there is a meaning to life, it is going to be survival. Can’t survive without procreation.

Social media is way more efficient though. Like, almost incomparable.

I know what you mean, but it’s not really possible to manually denoise a picture the way the AI denoiser does. Let alone within 10 seconds. Plus, it’s more of a niche usage. I don’t think it consumes all that much energy.

Generating shitty images, creating deepfakes, prompting all kinds of bullshit… now that is a waste of energy as it really just makes the world worse. AI generated articles are popping up all over the internet. They aren’t even reviewed anymore. Enshittification of the internet took some gigantic strides since the AI boom.

Lol, Copilot is easily the dumbest AI assistant. It’s completely useless, it just spews bullshit.

The only really useful AI thing is the denoiser in Adobe Lightroom. I can shoot pictures in pitch black darkness with the highest ISO settings. Obviously it is a grainy mess. The denoiser manages to clean that up while retaining all of the details. It’s really fucking great!

Anything else is just novelty bullshit.
