Not only that. In South America, it is impossible to legally purchase digital Nintendo games. The only options are: overpriced physical copies (like, 2 or 3 times the original value), or create a US account (so, lying in the personal data) and buy prepaid cards online (also severely overpriced).
For some people, piracy is the only option.
No LTS, they support each version for 1 year, and there are two major upgrades per year. I still haven’t upgraded last October.
But I never had an issue, I always upgraded using the terminal instead of the GUI.
I’m OK with that, as long as they keep their mouths shut.
I’ve been using Fedora for the last 5 years and never had to reinstall the OS. I’ve been upgrading with no issues whatsoever.
With Ubuntu, I had to reinstall everything on every update because of errors. Not on EVERY update of course, but often enough to make me want to stick to LTSs.

I’ve had something like this happening to me a long time ago. While going from a city in Uruguay to a city in Argentina, Google Maps “suggested” a route that was 2 hours longer but took me through the ferry (a paid business). Even though I chose “keep my route” several times, from time to time, the suggestion popped up with a “time limit” to confirm. If I failed to notice it, the suggested route would be selected.
Unnecessary writing wears out the SSD in the same way putting on your shoes wears them out.

Deepfake videos were WIDELY used in the latest Argentina presidential election. The most known video was one featuring the runner-up candidate snorting coke, yelling “oh this shit is gooood”. He was called “coke-head” by Milei’s party during the entire campaign.
