HDD for long term storage. More reliable, has a higher number (essentially infinite assuming the drive never fails) of read/writes before failing. Cheaper and higher capacity than any ssd or m.2. Also if you dont keep applying a small electrical charge to an m.2 they eventually lose the data. HDD doesnt really lose data as easily. Also data recovery is easier with HDD. Finally you know when a HDD is on its way out as it will show slower write speeds and become noisier etc.

I used to work in a service desk looking after maybe… 4000 desktops and 2000 laptops for a hospital and the amount of ssd and m.2 failures we had was very costly.

  • I quit by vaping.

I smoked for 15 or 16 years. I tried vaping one time, around 13 or 14 years in, but it didn’t do it for me. After a few more years of smoking, i tried a sub ohm vape, which used a low nic salt content. It made massive clouds which whilst making me feel like a twat, actually helped to fuel the illusion that i was smoking. The feel on my throat was similar to the cigarettes i was used to, and overall, it felt like smoking, so i managed to stick to it and not smoke at the same time.

The kicker was that the low salt meant that initially i was vaping more often, but as time went on i was finding that i was having less time to vape so i was t getting as much nicotine. Eventually, after maybe 6 months to a year, i found that one day, i went all day at work without vaping once. And when i realised i just decided… i dont need it, so i left the vape at home the next day.

Its been over a year and a half now, and i dont think about them anymore.

    I am really fucking happy.

  • If you dont mind me asking, how old are you?

I grew up from 0 to mid-20s watching tv this way. As a child in the UK we had limited options, there were 4 (eventually) 5 analogue tv channels, which quite early on became something between 30 and 100 when we got “sky” tv (satellite) and that became somewhere close to 500 with some duplicates a bit later. But all of this was adverts every 10 to 15 minutes. Most programs ran in 30-minute blocks, including adverts. So either your show was 20 minutes with a break in the middle and the end to make it to 30, or it was 40 mins with a break every 10 minutes to make it to 1 hour. Breaks were about 5 mins each.

Generally this lead to channel hopping, you would watch fresh prince of bel air until the break, then swap to 5 minutes of a show that you dont need to follow like cow and chicken or a music channel and then swap back to fresh prince to catch the second half. As we got older, the breaks became a chance for talking or getting a drink or something.

Thats why i ask if you are young, because im 36 and i can remember tv being this way and not having an issue, but also feel like i couldnt go back to that way because its so much better now.

The issue is the big streaming services are all going that way and putting adverts before and even in between and in the middle of shows so soon i will be back to piracy :/ i guess.

    • I have not independently verified the gallon usage of my car.

That’s you. In your original post.

    You haven’t tested this yourself.

You explocitly stated i your original post that the combustion engine is not affected by different weather conditions like an electric motor. But now you claim the weather being different is why you have not done the test yourself. But also its because of how far you would have to drive and not actually because of the weather.

    You consistently contradict yourself.

So no. I am not telling you how you ran your own test

YOU FUCKING TOLD ME, YOU ABSOLUTE CREATURE!
