I am somewhat in a similar boat. I have like one to two friends left and also looking for a partner. I never go out and only stay at home.

I know that this is definitely not for everyone but rather for a small minority, but I found and joined the furry fandom. They are loving and welcoming and so put my hopes into them. There is a high chance that there is a local meetup in your area but I have been too shy to attend yet. Instead, I opted straight for a convention which I think is a better starting point for me because it is more anonymous. Note, that this is just a suggestion since the convention did not happen yet and I am looking forward to it patiently.

It’s cool but as soon as I need to move I am out. Moving is inconvenient at best and nausiating at worst (for me). So that does not leave me with a lot of possible games. Edit: I am sure that is the same for most people.

My EU bank never ever used my phone number to verify anything. They only used it to contact me on some occasions. 2FA is done through their app.

I am exposing docker via tcp in wsl and set the env var on the host to point to it. A bit more manual but if you don’t need anything special, it works too.

We slowly need to interface with an app at work that uses fixed-width too. It does not sound that bad if you hear it but it sucks to figure out where you are missing whitespace when most fields are not used and therefore all whitespace. Oh, and of course there are a lot of fields, also are aligned/formatted differently based on their type and has thin/no/wrong documentation. And I have yet to find a simple but decent “debugger”.

Personally, I find the wording “We value your privacy” even better. It carries more connection to money.

I started using it on my NAS and also on root. Then I switched my personal machine to ZFS on root. I manually created both setups (somehow). This is the worst part in my opinion. The best decision, though, was to ditch grub in favor of zfsbootmenu. Skips all the brittle steps with grub and its boot partition. Now I just have zfsbootmenu directly loaded by UEFI from the EFI partition. Everything important is directly on ZFS, including… well, everything. Can also use snapshots but I have not needed that yet.

I feel the same way. The only videos I watch are the ones on the philanthropy channel and the ones where the core is giving away money or stuff (e.g. cars) to random people (or people in need).

Though, I also question the sustainability of (some of) the philanthropy actions. Don’t get me wrong, giving water and light to people in the middle of nowhere is nice, but when they become dependent and they can’t fix it when it breaks, they could be screwed big time.

The like five minutes I “researched” the “main” guy of the philanthropy channel (Derrick? Taran?) I came to the conclusion that he seems genuinely dedicated to trying helping people.

Ethoslab. Pretty sure he still does quality content (probably) but I just can’t watch minecraft content anymore. Also, I don’t even have the time to watch/play everything what I really do want.

She has a video on YT on her own channel about that. Pretty sure the problem is the… negativity against her. She appeared in one or two LTT videos for a brief moment though. And there is at least one video by her on floatplane. But I am not following anything actively so that is the only info I have.

Every time I open YT on my tablet I am extremely confused what the shit titles and thumbnails are. DeArrow is one heck of an essential extension.

My go-to solution is to use a vm and pass it raw access to the os disk on my normal desktop. Then I just put the disk into the server.

I reinstalled from scratch. Went from Xubuntu to minimal Ubuntu with KDE de. And then tried wayland again. One the one hand, gaming performance went up by a lot which was basically my main issue.

On the other side it is buggy af. The file manager fails mostly at moving files. There are random graphical glitches. Had the whole DE crash/lock up a couple times And the tabbing/tasbar handling is (still) not what I want. I also have still not found out why zfs automount does not trigger.

But at least I have something useable again!

Also, stronger, blinding sunlight and more headaches.

They somehow got the message and actually implemented that it can *checks notes* open emails.

I never understood why everyone uses it as a ignore list. In my own and work repositories I always exclude everything by default and re-add stuff explicitly. I have had enough random crap checked in in the past by coworkers. Granted, the whole source folder is fully included but that has never been a problem.

Man, I always found that weird but never looked it up…
