I have the knob off my first oven. When it burnt out my landlord opted to buy a new one instead of getting a new coil so I swiped the knob. It was the oven and stove I taught myself to cook on, I wouldn’t be who I am today of I hadn’t had to spend every night guessing the temp from that worn out knob.
That’s the main reason we adopted it, best choice we ever made.
I’d highly suggest it. The winter solstice is a very refreshing take on the holiday season. Gifts aren’t expected, we mostly just give socks, or warm blankets. Everyone in the house has a drawstring bag associated with the holiday and we put the socks and maybe candies in them too be opened after dinner on solstice night. Bigger gifts aren’t frowned upon, but they have to be something meaningful and ideally with some level of hand made. This last year my spouse gave me 5 pairs of socks that she tyedyed herself and I gave her a dinosaur shaped coathook and plack for her backpack to hang on.

Most cases, the answer is no and I simply have to not care about it.
I celebrate the solstice in both the summer and winter.

The summer solstice is a celebration of the family of the trail, those you pick up along the way who come to mean more than a passing fondness. This is celebrated as a large bonfire where everyone brings food or drink for theirs and two more and are encouraged to invite someone they’d like to know better than they already do. The goal is to meet others and celebrate life.
So my take from this is that this could be a neat alternative to bullion and a funny gag gift. That’s honestly not nearly as awful as I expected.

Exactly, as a non smoker, I don’t use it enough to justify the cost of fuel. That’s why I like the arch lighter insert. All the look and feel of a zippo but I have to fuel it annually instead of hourly and it takes USB instead of oil.
I carry an arch lighter everywhere. It cost me $15 but saves me a ton in lighter fuel, and you’d be surprised by the number of every day situations that a controlled burst of plasma solves. Opening packages, lighting candles, kills mosquitos in the dark, and it’s a fantastic taking piece as mine slots into a zippo.
Only downside is I can’t use my zippo for light on the off chance I get trapped in a dark tunnel.
Morrowind on the original Xbox came with cheat codes. Put the cursor over the health, magicka, or fatigue bar, enter the codes with the black and white buttons then hold A until the bar fills. If you close the menu before you let go of A, it will continue to refill constantly until you open your menu again.
Health: B, W, B, B, B, A
Magicka: B, W, W, B, W, A
Fatigue: B, B, W, W, B, A
You could actually use the magicka code for all 3, but I liked that there were 3 different codes.
In our house we do both, but each place has a dedicated food list. Comfort foods, fast foods and lazy foods can be eaten in the living room, it feels gratuitous to eat pizza rolls and veg at the table, but it’s an easy thing to eat and watch a family show with. Proper meals, fancy meals, long noodles, and soups are all table food. Watching a show over a plate of braised chicken with seared acorn squash takes away from the presentation of the plate and lessens the experience.
This would be cool as fuck if it was Digimon instead of Digi-porn.
It felt like two highschool drama rivals inexplicably got cast in a big budget show piece. I don’t know who the characters are, but they had the chemistry and acting skills of porno step siblings.
I went in expecting family guy in space and instead I got a really good spoof of star trek with a comfortable mix of low-brow humor and well thought out commentary. I’d honestly give it a go if I were you, Seth McFarland is so much funnier than most give him credit for.

It’s more like “trick or treat” vs “candy or we egg this joint”.
The one is social accepted, polite, and doesn’t overtly state an intention to harm but it does imply it. The other is exactly the same, but it’s direct, no implication, just one or the other.
Another example would be “you gotta pay us for protection, you wouldn’t want anything to happen while you’re here.” Vs. " Pay up or we cut you".
My gal hates it because she’s a huge fan of the book and apparently they did the whole of it pretty dirty. One of those, “it’s fine if you weren’t hoping to see anything that made the book unique” type movies.

With the | being the boarder of the notebook paper and the bulk of the text being some form of shorthand that reminds me of the information. Example:
I got a selection of hand dyed tie dye socks from my spouse, she’s an expert at tie dye so they look amazing and the color choices are great!
