Fish isn’t much better.
It is best to have a balanced diet with protein from multiple different good quality sources. We don’t need much protein in our diet.

I used to work as a butcher and honestly, it’s the industrial meat manufacturing complex that is to blame. That is where all the cruelty exists. Toxic masculinity encourages minimum wage workers in a dirty job to have fun at the expense of the animals. They need to fight for this belief because if they start to feel any humanity towards the animals, they will breakdown.
Toxic masculinity in our western society demands high meat content in meals.
I’m quite happy to have meat with meals every now and then, I’ve seen how the sausage is made and I also appreciate how the sausage tastes.
I will never buy cheap “budget” sausages for myselfbut I will quite happily buy and eat one at Bunnings or on Election Day to support community groups.
I will have one at a BBQ (with a generous amount of salad) and I will help polish off the last ones to stop the dog getting too fat.
Second-to-last time we ran a sausage sizzle, we were brow-beaten by a Vegan who was upset that we were not offering Vegan sausages. His whole family was vegan and we were discriminating against them.
The next time, we got a separate grille, a separate chiller and a pack of twelve vegan sausages. He came with his family, and true to his word, he bought a vegan sausage for himself.
His family members all decided not to have their sausage straight away, but to come back afterwards.
They did come back later, without their father/husband and we threw out 11 vegan sausages at the end of the day.
#NotTheOnion Microsoft will make millions of computers obsolete and will generate thousands of tonnes of eWaste on International eWaste Day.
“Windows 10 security updates end on 14 October 2025, KDE’s 29th birthday and also, ironically, International E-Waste Day [1] (you cannot make these things up!)”
I am inferring a difference between an algorithm that is based on simple rules, and an algorithm that is constantly being dishonestly modified for commercial, political and financial benefit.
The fact that comments are prioritised by simple rules, an not by some sort of monolithic ALGORITHM, keeps the discussion dynamic.
Honestly, I think is the whole ”First Post” mindset.
When you post a reply on Mastodon, it is more intimate, the only people who see it are the original tooter and anyone who actively seeks more commentary. It is a dialogue between two people, or multiple dialogues between one person and many others.
Lemmy is more like a forum, where everyone can see all comments, right underneath the original post. It is more like an open-table discussion.
It is not that Lemmy is more social, it is just less personal.

It depends on the Jurisdiction.
IANAL, but in Australia, the Driver is responsible if any passengers are not wearing their seatbelt.
We have a HiSense 60” and have never connected it to any network. It works perfectly as a Dumb Monitor with multiple HDMI inputs and HDCP and HDMI-CEC work perfectly with our AppleTV (HDMI 1) and PS5 (HDMI2) We have TOSLink Optical Audio to an Amp(receiver) and it works almost perfectly, until the Amp chucks a hissy-fit because people forget to turn it off.
Rumour is that the Shahid Drones use Discord as a backend for Command and Control.
😂
I blame their mothers.
Thankyou, you are correct.
Average is an ambiguous term; mean, modal or median is much more precise. Unfortunately, those who are at or below the median are ignorant of the distinction.
It is however, a term that a Brexiter can understand.
At least half of everyone is below average. The problem is that the bell curve is flattening and the stupid people are able to network and create their own little groups. They become unaware of their own ignorance because they keep getting positive feedback to fuel their negativity.
We all gave to be aware of this and not let it happen to us. The old saying, “keep an open mind, but not so open that your brains fall out”.
What needs to happen is that they need to cop it on the chin and do better with their security.
These companies need to tell the scammers to bugger off. If they keep capitulating, the scammers will keep on doing it.
There have already been several cases of scammers continuing to threaten companies, even after the first ransom has been paid.
The British Brexiters are not as stupid at Contemporary American Republicans, but they do come close.
Mine had a 3-speed crash box with an unusual shift-pattern that basically made the theft-proof. It also ran on both LPG and Petrol so I could drive it everywhere without having to refill.
Petrol was reasonably priced back then and LPG was even cheaper.
Affordable electric vehicles are e-bikes and Mass Transit on appropriate infrastructure.
Private electric cars and Ride-share electric cars are not a sustainable replacement for ICE vehicles.
