But can you really be sure that it doesn’t connect to another network? i have to check again but if i recall correctly there are TVs that try to connect to other open networks or even look for other TVs from the same manufacturer and connect through those to the internet. I have to double check this again, so take this with a grain of salt
i can especially relate to the last part, it’s so freeing to feel in control of my phone!
The problem is that (as far as i know) only pixels fulfill their security requirements, for example that the bootloader is not only unlockable but also lockable. But I also would like to have more devices supporting it
I2P could be a suitable alternative for this. Although it is rather slow it still works and you dont have to worry about beeing exposed
Depending on the number and kind of seeders I would say that I can download a “normal” movie (2-3 GB) in arround 4-12 hours (sorry that i dont have some real numbers, I could check again later for that). So you probably won’t be able to say “hey, i just saw this new i2p-torrent, lets quickly download it” but its defenitly usable, especially when building a library. The “worst” torrent I downloaded was like 50 GB of House M.D. that was seeded by just a single person, but after roughly 1,5 -2 Weeks it was done!

While it’s true that i2p torrents are slower than clearnet torrents the speed is not really as bad in my experience. I would say i can download most shows, movies and files in general in 1-2 days max (I know that is slow in comparison, but its OK if you are just building up your library, atleast for me). On average i would say a “normal 1080p movie” finishes in 5-6 hours (In my experience). The bigger Problem is sometimes the lack of torrents and seeders, although this is getting better
