Mr Green by SoBe. Tasted like Dr Pepper, but it was green, and was available in Pepsi vending machines after 7up brand split away from PeosiCo in vending machines (iirc it was because that was the time Sierra Mist came out).

In this context, TTS is Text To Speech which is an accessibility program for people who are visually impaired.
First one:
About ten years ago my husband got a job and our health insurance changed providers (very common here). My second child needed a refill on his control inhaler for asthma. He’d been on the same one since he was initially diagnosed at 2 years old. Insurance denied covering that brand (which was older and therefore cheaper) until he tried expensive brand. Expensive brand was $80 out of pocket, and I am still livid that they fucked around with his health like that. The only way they’d consider covering the original one was if we tried expensive brand and it didn’t work. For a six year old. With asthma. Thankfully, it did work but it still pisses me off.
Second one:
Shit happened and my kids and I ended up on state Medicaid for almost a year. My state privatized it and they declined to cover every. single. visit. and now, years later, I’m still fighting for them to retroactively cover visits so I’m not on the hook for thousands of dollars.
They were considered to be a weapon.
It has one human-looking eye and one horse-looking eye…
When I was 14-15 I wanted a wallet chain, but they were banned at my school. I made one of of safety pins that looped down past my knees. Somehow my linked safety pins were ok…
Those eyes… Can’t unsee
My favorite is the 4th one - the one with Sailor Moon and the double headed axe in the hedge maze. Seems the most on par with the homicidal ghosts at the Overlook.
Honk? Quack? Idk. I tried
Inside of my left wrist is where I got mine. It’s small enough to be covered by my watch band.
Not mine, but my dad’s that I was there to witness.
It was summer (90s) and we were all camping at a lake. My sister and I were playing with some kids while my dad was chatting up the other kids’ dad. Just as I was getting out of the water I hear the other dad exclaim “you remind me of a guy I used to know called [name]!” My dad laughs and says “I am [name].” Turns out they used to go to school together decades before.
It’s stuck with me all these years, and has somewhat been turned into an inside joke within our family.
I got an email from them on the 3rd, yesterday, and was thankful for their prompt notice. Prompt as in it was days vs months since they discovered it before notifying customers.
Luke Daniels and Andy Serkis both really bring that extra to the books they narrate.
I have an account on kbin.social, lemmy.world, and sh.itjust.works. They are all linked on my respective profiles. I mainly use this one because .world had some issues where I couldn’t view comments on the connect android app about a year ago so I just switched. I like the app interface because it reminds me of rifgp, so that’s why I’ve never given kbin a fair shake.
Memphis design for the colors and patterns, Y2K for the colorful translucent electronics, and Frutiger Aero for the GUIs.
I just bought myself a pair of parachute pants! They’re not nearly as loud as the wind breaker suits of the 90s and early 00s, but I love them.
I remember us having an Atari computer along with some Compac computer running DOS in the late 80s. The computers I grew up with were models that we got for free from my dad’s workplace whenever they upgraded. We ran Win 3.1 until about '98. Win 95 was prevalent in the house until the mid '00s. Due to my dad’s job, we always had a computer of some sort in the house.
The computers in my elementary school’s computer lab were Apple 2es - in the 90s.
I didn’t get a cellphone until around 2004/2005, and then it was a hand-me-down from my older sister. The Nokia 5110 - the brick, complete with extendable antenna.
Blinkies - those small gifs that blinked to give the impression of glitter.
iframes - precursor to divs, but definitely added that “only works in IE” feel.
More contrast between font color and background image - it’s too easy to read.
12pt Times New Roman font - gotta squint to read and default font for everything
Flashy gif banner at your header and footer - bonus points if they’re the same image
All urls default to underlined blue and purple.
Mouse cursor with trails. The more sparkles, the better.
Clip art. Clip art everywhere.
It’s a thing. It’s a disgusting thing, but it’s a thing. I remember, almost 30 years ago, my parents picking out a double wide trailer and they had to check a box to NOT get carpet in the bathrooms.
Simple Green is my go to degreaser when dish soap and hot water don’t cut it.
