    The idea is that you use a goal heirarchy:

    The nice thing about this setup is that if some of your subordinate goals don’t work out the others will still help push you towards your goal.

    So that being said, my goal is to get to a healthy weight (again) but to do so in a healthy manner. So I’m:

    • cutting my calories for two weeks, followed by
    • eating at maintenance calories for a week (practice eating “normally”, upregulate metabolism a bit, give myself a mental break)
    • weight train regularly (maintain muscle)
    • jump rope (additional physical activity, fun skill)
    • walk 10k steps a day
