  • My first ‘real vacation’ after the 2008 housing market crash where I lost my ass I went to meet up with some people in our (old forum days) off road for total of a week off.

I spent money on gas, shared a camping site with another dude form my area -10$/night split, site was big enough for our 2 tents, plus fire pit & had a shower/shitter building at the front). I packed a lot of food but went shopping for groceries/beer.

Had a big ol time, and I had never met any of them face to face. Most of us were back the next year, and most of us still keep in touch.

You don’t need to be an expert at anything, (I am not mechanically inclined, nor had I ever off roaded much, I traded mod work for food because I cook, and when I got into trouble everyone else had the toys to get me out) just find a thing and see who is weird enough to invest their time and energy into it.

  • I know somebody who knows someone who has a private movie (TV, etc) server and had the access for free up to this year… electric prices being what they are he finally had to start charging 10$ a month.

I’ve used it for 4 years so in 4 more years the total charge is 5$ a month.

I will gladly pay for a service like this that’s private & only done as a “hobby” rather than give my minutes to a corporation.

  • Depends on your budget, really. Is it worth you to get basically ‘disposable’ shirts?

I have had some organic cotton Tshirts last me 13+ years now and they still look great/color, etc. They cost at the time 15$ or: a little over 1$ per year.

I just loaded up on some shirts from Uniqlo because of a comment a friend made on their clothing that they last a long time (10+ yrs)-and she has way better judgement in clothing than I do…for sure. So there basic T is 10€, but I got a deal on the first order through their website & got 10 for 6.50€each.

That being said, I would load up on these and have them in stock at home and get a much use out of them as I could (and when they wear down they’re hobby/work/outdoor etc.)…

Edit: wash in cold water, do not use fabric softeners, and only 1-2 T of detergent, line dry if you can
