Ho yeah but they are definitely not ignoring that in the article. It’s just that they are talking mostly about the subject of the article which is: deepseek

DeepSeek is open source, meaning you can modify code[…] on your own app to create an independent — and more secure — version. However, using DeepSeek in its current form — as it exists today, hosted in China — comes with serious risks for anyone concerned about their most sensitive, private information.
They are not wrong here.
After having read the article fully it doesn’t seem to be that partial and acknowledge also the failing of others. It is not as stupid as the CEO stance on “Republicans helping the little guys” for sure.
I see they have a us patent somewhere, am guessing they are located in the us then ?
Thank you very much
So what is the preferred way to access those apps now if you don’t mind ?

Relief point: we will still be using unix timestamp.

Just so you know: Tiny windows scattered has been fixed for quite a while now. You have 2 mode, unique window, and scattered. As for me: Never went back
You can also open registries from windows install with it.
Just so you know Proton VPN has port forwarding if you can afford them.
Sadly doing it on the router would not be enough. Not a problem if you are browsing of course. But if you host, needs to listen on a specific port or whatever it gets annoying. And obviously piracy.
CGNAT
I am so sorry. How do you usually circumvent that bs ?
No port forward though (I understand why but it is still annoying)
KDE. Historicaly I was using Gnome (1 then 2) but Gnome3 was just … So I switched to KDE and never looked back since, it so customizable that I can set it just right for me. No shade to the great work made by the Gnome3 team but I am a KDE guy now…
They are not positive ?
Knew a place where, for some devices, it was only available via a web interface. It was automated via WebDriver by a sysadmin that was losing his mind.
In VSCodium you have the docker plugin. It pretty much offers the same capabilities as the Docker desktop (view containers, images, etc. Allow to connect to the containers, to see their files, etc).
Especially when your ide/editor has a plug-in that does the sane thing than docker desktop anyways
