So is everybody just snapping at each other more? Like is the friend group more angry? I’m kind of confused at the nature of the toxicity. But it does feel like the pressure of society making people a lot more tired and stressed, quick to snap. I’ve notice the same thing with some of friends of mine, and it’s unfortunate =(
The Middle East in general has oil and Israel is our main base over there basically, being an ally in the region. They give us a zone of control. (Also Turkey but Israel is easier to control and it’s good to have backups.)
I like this. It’s applicable basically everywhere nowadays.
Wasn’t there some companion game to EVE Online that was supposed to be like that?
I loved Final Fantasy IX but sometimes I think I dreamed it because no one else ever talks about it, just VI, VII, and then over to X usually lol.
Damn that sucks. That guy should quit, or just do the job the slowest they can.
I’m excited!
I’m excited for the scaling sort.
The internet is really something, isn’t it?
Thanks! You seemed very informed about the conflict so yours felt like a good comment to ask that question under, which had been on my mind since I saw it under an old Abby Martin video of her interviews with Israelis. That video looks like it will probably take some time to watch but it gives me a place to start.
They migrated from North Arabia and took Jewish land every time the Jews were forcefully removed by a long line of oppressors. Then, when every Arab country started kicking out Jews, thy had nowhere to go but their homeland. When they arrived in the early 40’s en masse, the Palestinian leader met with Hitler to see about exterminating them. You got the colonizer/colonized dynamic backwards. This is what happens when you get your info from Facebook.
I saw this YouTube comment where people were arguing whether the Palestinians or Jewish people were there first. Does anyone know how accurate this comment is?
I’m reading through the Wikipedia article and don’t see anything about the Israelis using human shields. Part of it mentions Hamas using human shields, hiding under hospitals, keeping weapons in houses or mosques, etc.
Can you help narrow it down for me which part you’re talking about?
Like others I mostly miss the discussions in my old niche hobby subs. Luckily a lot seem to have communities here, they just need more participation.

What is Israel supposed to do, though? Just let the Hamas attack go unpunished? I get that there’s something between doing nothing and what they’re doing, but I’m just curious what people think they should have done instead. (Realistically. Obviously leaving is no longer an option for them because all the people who live there.)
Yes! I loved this old subreddit. I hope someone can post a bunch of those pictures from over there here over time.
Nice you basically got it all figured out. Thanks for contributing! =D
Great idea! Lemmy needs more content. You’re doing God’s work. I recommend you don’t dump it all at once because it looks like spam. That’s why people don’t like the Reddit posting bots like lemmit. Maybe once a day or twice a day, extend it out a while and gives time for people to comment on them.
I use mine everyday. I listen to music, podcasts, and sometimes watch videos at work, basically the entire time I’m working. I usually have my phone connected and charging at the same time through the charge port. Wireless charging doesn’t work because of my Pop Socket.
They also break or I lose them in occasion and it takes a quick trip to any gas station, grocery store, or basically any nearby store during my lunch break, and I’m able to pick up replacements for $10-$20.
Fair to say, I refuse to buy my next phone without headphone jacks. I do use wireless headphones for when I’m working out, but otherwise, at work or on walks, I use wired ones connected to my headphone jack.
