It depends on who you ask. In our fucked up culture where money > people, productivity > humanity, and dominating others > helping others, Musk is the ideal grand vision for what a person with “potential” will become. He has the highest score, therefore the best results.

He has also talked about the importance of preserving the light of consciousness. The Borg are perfect for this.

And then in general, he seems to be on the extra-sociopathic end of the tech bro spectrum, where the point of a life well lived is productivity and accumulation of assets, and emotions are a weakness. He would probably get all hot and bothered at the idea of being able to assimilate all life forms, share their useful technical knowledge across the collective, and summarily discard all the cultural distractions from the Great Productive Mission.

Mint has been on kernel 6.8 for months now, and that kernel version was first released less than a year ago. They made a change a little while back to be more up to date.

It all comes back to money > humans in this fucked up country.

The business leaders don’t care about their customers. They will sell out the people they depend on if it makes the numbers 1% better. And then COVID taught them how they could make things even worse.

But then the rest of the people don’t have enough respect for the employees, other customers, or themselves to demand better.

Oh yeah no disagreement there. The way that social media of all types democratizes content creation and celebrity status is great.

For me personally, the YouTube model is great where individuals can basically produce their own TV show or documentaries. But all the other big corporate social media services are meh in comparison. When it comes to interaction rather than consuming, that’s when I love Lemmy.
