Lots of people mentioning collaboration / multiple users, yet all your replies seem to completely ignore this aspect. I’m guessing you might live alone and are struggling to imagine some very common use cases here.

Good call, let’s discourage deep thought and long form discussion. More clickbait and exploitation please!
I don’t know, maybe, maybe not. But in my hypothetical, at least trump would be dealing with someone who has a mandate, rather than someone who has one foot out the door. It’s a terrible bargaining position to be in.
But like I said, that’s moot if the winds are shifting. I put a gigantic IF in front of my statement for a reason.
If the conservatives winning is a foregone conclusion, I’d rather have them in power now where they can mount a credible response to trump than in the summer.
But if these polls are to be believed, maybe it’s not so foregone after all. Three more months of trump opening his mouth might actually be enough to sour people on Pierre
Element (over the Matrix protocol). As someone who grew up on IRC, it is in no shape or form a replacement for Discord.
In Canada, after that image is plastered everywhere? I sure as hell hope it hurts him.
You vastly overestimate the average person’s technical ability.
Why not both?
I use syncthing for transferring files around my local network, and nextcloud for sharing files with others.
IMO these are related tools but designed with very separate use cases. Use the right tool for the job.
Maybe in the sense that it’s needed in the first place. But in reality it’s probably the single most lucrative investment we could make.
I’m not going to switch away from them just yet… But I am going to start using an address with my own domain. My only regret is not doing this from the beginning.
That’s a good point. I should have said “indistinguishable after some tinkering”. You raise a valid complaint, though it’s not a deal breaker for me.
Why is it a bad way to handle things?
I have an alias set up and SDKs enabled. The experience is indistinguishable from a regular install. But you could also layer it onto the os image or install it in user space if you don’t like flatpaks for the extra resource usage or something. That’s a complete non issue for me though.
I do my main development with Bazzite. I use the Neovim flatpak for my editor and toolbox for builds and such.
Or install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/addon/facebook-container/ for the less tech savvy / lazy
Europe would definitely not come to our aid. There’s nothing to gain, and everything to lose. Plus they barely came to the aid of a country being invaded in their own back yard. If they fear provoking Russia’s ire, they wouldn’t touch the US with a ten thousand foot pole.
Even if they did declare war against the US, it wouldn’t tip the balance of power.
I’ll be back in five moons, we’re running out of mammoth meat (translation)
It’s not compiled into Firefox ever. A binary blob is downloaded after the first time you activate DRM. So just don’t activate it and it’ll never be present on your machine.
Yeah, it’s a tautology
He had a majority, didn’t need any input from other parties. He didn’t want to do it because he knew it would stop him from getting a majority at the next election. It’s that simple.
