Took a Waymo once with some coworkers. The ride was fine (San Francisco inner City trip). What really surprised me is how normal it felt after a couple of minutes. Most people don’t talk to their driver much anyway, so there might as well not be one.
And suddenly all the AI weirdness is a feature, not a bug.
Miraculously it kinda worked for the fall.
The only way to regulate my intake is not to buy them.

The “up to” makes this particularly depressing. And realistic.
100%! But the research is still vital, and we should be doing more of it while being way more aggressive about carbon reduction.
I disagree only on a technicality - economics still matter for decision making, in the minds of people who are in power of making those decisions. Otherwise yeah, things are past the point of no return. Mitigation is all we can hope to do I think.
I suspect there will be a point where economics don’t matter anymore and we don’t have a choice.
You could say it’s a matter of personal taste.
The question at the end should be asked a lot more, preferably BEFORE buying junk.
I really wish more European manufacturers would sell cars in North America. Much more interesting selection…
We should build more two or three story walk ups like Montreal has in the older neighborhoods. Places like the Plateau or St. Henri are great to live in.
I’m on my second battery, this has been my main personal computer (gaming aside) for over ten years. Maybe it deserves one more extension on life… I’ll think about it!
