Yeah. It’s a pretty big part of their business model.
From my new user experience it seems like active comments get placed higher regardless of upvoted. i.e. comments that are still being commented on or new ones.
There’s nothing about it on the top two pages of Reddit so either people don’t care or let’s get out our tinfoil hats and make this make sense.
I’ve never had any interaction good or bad with them in my 11 years on Reddit. I consider that a good thing. They’re in the background doing what needs to be done and I appreciate that.
Most people aren’t concerned about privacy outside of places like here and Reddit.
Question regarding the phone thing. Am I one of the only people that doesn’t care about changing my battery or is this more a popular opinion on Lemmy/Reddit?

Let me tell you my favorite feature on Apollo. “Filter Subreddit”. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the same article from a different news/world news/etc instance(? Sorry, not up with the vernacular yet) just blanketing my home page.
I’m sure I’ve seen you on hinge.
Are you that dude?
Close.
I feel like there’s people just taking top posts from Reddit and getting them here as fast as they can. Sometimes it seems like a “best of” Reddit site.
And I’m sure it will. But one comment had a “welcome package” with like 13 different links.
I can say while it’s not difficult to set up an account, it’s not as easy as give us your email and make a password for this one site. I’m figuring it out as I go but those little things might be enough to turn some people away.
Sheeesh. If I want to listen to people bitch about Reddit I would have stayed on Reddit.
Dag. Not like Snatch “ya like dags” but like “dag, yo”.
