Damng, I never understood Dr John P. Wheezer’s song as much as I do right now.
It was a generalization, but there is also Isomaltulose which is an actual glucose-fructose sugar but the bond is stronger so it needs a specific enzyme (which most simple life doesn’t have) to break down. Lower GI too. It’s sort of like a carbohydrate and doesn’t taste as sweet.
The problem here is that it’s more expensive (though I guess that is probably true of most things healthier, especially as they aren’t subsidized like corn).
I don’t know, in my mind a cola called despair would probably be a mix of bland yet overbearing while also somewhat familiar.
Like it’s still got bite/spice, but not a widely appealing taste by any means. Probably contains cooked blood for the iron content which, along with vitamin C+low sugar+somewhat cheaper, is the main reason it makes sense to actually drink it.
Smells worse than it tastes, but probably has other utilities especially if the sweetener is not something that bacteria can easily consume. You will learn to love it, unless you can recover at which point even the smell will give you bad memories.
EDIT: Though I guess this makes more sense for depression-era living, not so much the metacommentary about the near future (ration cola might be too positive of a lifeline)
Water? Preposterous!
A giant pot of delicious soon-to-be stew, however… mighty tempting, doc! You’ll have to treat me right though, you wouldn’t want to get food poisoning from stringy meat would ya?
The blocky white outline on everything in your example I’d say is a technical issue (common with beginners) not one that others who have used a digital art program would likely consider a stylistic choice. Home Movies is imperfect and minimalist, but it is well-presented… and even season 2 is much smoother due to the switch to Flash, which may be part of it.
Weird stuff was either successful because the good outweighed the bad (the really bad stuff gets lost to time)… or because seemingly-bad choices were deliberate, had technical benefits, and were skillfully done.
In other words, there’s a big difference between something being “experimental” and it being early practice.
Though I will say sometimes style/proportions just bother people especially when common, see the hate for cal-arts memes.
Also humans lack a stable tooth-friendly microbiome in their mouths. At least not ones in modern societies, I mean maybe someone in remote areas of the world (who has never eaten refined sugar and never used mouthwash, still eats unprocessed+fibrous foods etc.)?
Would you spend your remaining time differently than you do now?
If so, why aren’t you already doing it?
Probably not as I am already stuck.
I am not aware of what I would do differently, where I would go, how I would reliably get there, and I don’t have much money. Also I don’t really have much contact with anyone.
And y’know, things aren’t looking great with the news but that’s all I’ll say.
This isn’t about paranoia. I’m a carless shut-in of Almost Nowhere, USA and there’s a pile of snow on the ground.
But mostly it was a joke, because it should be funny that it is an unlikely request.
I’m all for not trusting A.I., but please be realistic.
I mean… pixel art. For sure it is hard in a completely different way than photorealism. Less to work with (for good and bad), and a new set of rules (for pixel placement). I’m sure there’s multiple valid techniques (digital first, rough planning, individual pixel canvases/swatches or some other collage etc… not to mention cross-stitching or various building toys if you count that).
I don’t see the appeal in re-creating artifacts, but I’m sure there are people who can make a convincing approximation (particularly if they know any of the technical reasoning for JPEGs).
Also for most instruments, the ability to practice without bothering others.
Though honestly never having the option to even try many instruments is probably why many people don’t play an instrument. Digital is completely open, though I’d also say composing music is different than performing it.
Add restrictions to time/energy/mood, learning resources being paywalled, music theory being daunting, personal difficulties with certain instruments etc.
Unless it’s a free community project, never. I don’t want to see shameless self-promotion here.
I’m not going to say it’s totally wrong, but I want to see that someone has reason to be here other than sales/hype.
I’m tired of publishers and thinly-veiled engagement-bait. Tired of (paywall) crowdfunding and “I quit my job 6 months ago to work on my…”. Tired of seeing beta/market testing and these things endlessly stacking together, and potential bad outcomes to this (for users or developers).
Lacking trustworthy connections to acquire and trip-sit, as well as the right state-of-mind for it in the first place. In other words, the same exact issue.
On top of that… any chance at that working likely depends on needing a mental re-alignment, as-in not living with on-going despair-inducing issues.
Never had one but have family who has their VR headsets and aren’t really using them, borderline useless if you aren’t willing to use their ecosystem. They were having some trouble with their accounts (probably related to account migrations) and seemed too unsettled by the paper wall of text about being part of an organization to unlock dev mode.
Brain preserved, revived (not “uploaded”/copied!) by someone competent and caring (a science organization perhaps) in hundreds of years, somewhere that’s not complete shit assuming there is such a place still. I wouldn’t mind staying in the VR-jar for a while for a slow assessment, training, and introduction to the future world and brain fixing etc while building connections.
A new form of life. A deeper connection to technology does not mean I want to abandon nature. If anything I want more robust microbiomes than humans have and whatever techniques can be borrowed from nature (photosynthesis or creation of other organic molecules, connect to mycelium network etc) for homeostasis or environmental management/living conditions. Which would allow me to focus on hobbies while my body mostly maintains itself.
Ideally I could exist as something comparable to the size of a microwave but could connect to larger bodies if needed. Or as an extra observer/backup shift/co-pilot etc.
I mean state of mind, judgement, and especially impulse. That’s not to say caffeine has a huge effect there, but I could see it resulting in people posting things they may otherwise think 3 times about before moving on.
And another user mentioned ambien, so there are definitely more options.
I mean buzzed is a more flexible word than drunk, applicable even for too much caffeine.
No because the regret is mostly from a slight tone difference that I noticed seconds after posting, others don’t care and if deleting keeps my name on it that just makes it look worse than it is.
Basically the end of this clip by Gianni. EDIT: with the intro it does fit as me-to-also-me, if I cared a bit more
Hmm. It’s too late now to delete it… Now we just have to live with it.
It is a new community, so that’s part of it.
W/config I actually meant it probably should be nsfw by default. Though no idea. It’s not an nsfw-specific instance so it could also be an issue.
Alternatively, this could be an instance-related protest. The context with that being: there is also an anti-trans poster on that instance and people are complaining about the lack of an admin response.
