They used the term ‘nongovernmental combatant’ (aka terrorist), because a war can only be between states these combatants were not legally POW and thus had no right whatsoever.

Could it be that our ally is running an extermination campaign against a civilian population? No, that’s impossible. They all have to be terrorists, and contacting terrorists is against our terms of service.

It was quite clear from the beginning that people don’t want this, but I’m afraid there is a certain constituency that didn’t care, still doesn’t care, and would really like to read all of your messages. So I’d say it’s optimistic to say the fight is over.
