A trillion dollar bubble serving tech oligarchs versus a company in China demonstrating the potential to pop said bubble. Surely Microsoft et al, with their spotless records of prioritizing ethics over profits wouldn’t dare do such a thing? /s

Improvements are never a bad thing, but this strikes me as a “Oracle fixing a uniquely-Oracle problem” kind of situation.
I’m not an expert in databases, so I can’t say if this is standard practice, but sharing a page table entry across 1000+ processes seems a bit… excessive.
Or, apparently, introspectiveness…
Liberals are just sheep. They believe whatever the media tells them. They think they don’t need to believe anything other than the media tells them. One of the things the media tells them is they are superior to others, and it gets into their heads.
Kettle meet pot?
13th? Not a chance… unless you’re only talking about the part where slavery is legal for someone who is incarnated.
Interesting posts being served up:
“This isn’t a fight between republican and democrat. It’s between communism and freedom.”
A map showing Republicans as an overwhelming majority.
Photo about Democrats being more likely to call white people terrorists, while Republicans are more likely to call every other race terrorists.
They’re not in the majority, but not subtle enough to avoid worming their way into peoples opinions.

Which the crowd cheered for, keep in mind.
Somehow, I don’t think he will be happy until he’s the shadow president of the entire planet. Interfering with politics in America, Germany, the UK, and now you all…
Single-Person Identity Tokens Regulating Online Activity for Social Tradition. Along with a SSN, each American citizen will be assigned a unique token to verify their identity on the internet in accordance with the DANK Act (Digital Activities Need Knowledge).
If you want try to spread hate and perversion about Elon, grasp what you speak on.
Sure, here’s an idea: Elon Musk is the world’s richest man by a large margin, emotionally unstable, narcissistic, and insecure. Nothing good for society or the general public will come from giving him any position of power.
He has a lot to gain by influencing elections, and he has a proven record of supporting politicians and making them change their mind on policies in a way that benefits Elon’s companies. His trans daughter hates him for being a terrible person, but he blames her liberal-leaning views for it, calling it “the woke mind virus” and platforming selfish, anti-liberal/anti-socialist nut jobs as a “fuck you” to the threat he believed took his “son” away from him.
He has a track record of lying about his achievements, promising the future “will be ready by the end of next year” every year and only delivering something half-baked. But, that’s just his successes. He pays people to be good at things, then he claims the credit all for himself to seem cool and likeable. You know, like how he was claiming to be top 10 in Path of Exile 2, only to be caught obviously not knowing how to actually play the game he was supposedly world-class in.
Or if that’s not sad enough for you, have you heard of Adrian Dittman? If you don’t know who he is, let me tell you: he’s Elon’s alt account on Twitter… using a voice changer to pretend to be not-Elon… while acting as Elon’s number one fan.
In conclusion, fuck Elon Musk. Somebody who is that insecure, pathetic, and self-centered shouldn’t be allowed to buy his way into influencing politics.
An important thing to consider: Mastodon doesn’t have an “algorithm” for presenting posts in your subscription feed.
That doesn’t mean it “does not have an algorithm” entirely, though. There’s a couple of non-trivial ones being used to recommend friends and calculate the trending posts and tags that show up on the front page, and they do actually consider likes/shares as part of scoring.
I really hope he just dies. And not from a shooter. I don’t want his base to have him as a martyr. I want him to have a clogged artery, or a heart attack, and just his body gives out.
Have you had the displeasure of knowing QAnon cultists? There’s very little doubt in my mind that they would do anything but delude themselves into thinking that Ding-dong Donald is still alive. I even have the start of a bingo list prepared for what they might claim actually happened:
It’s almost like companies don’t want to pay extra money on every device for a feature the vast majority of consumers would never use… good thing DisplayPort is free, or we’d get neither.
Do users actually have a choice to ignore updates again? When I last touched Windows, it would forcibly install minor updates without giving much control to disable it other than setting a time range where it wasn’t allowed to force a reboot.
Another perspective: do you trust the average consumer to ever update WinRAR or 7zip? If it’s baked into Windows, at least Microsoft can patch any exploits that are discovered.
Investigators found searches on her phone for how to poison pets, how much bleach is needed to kill an animal, and how to clear search history
Not only is that the exact opposite order those searches should have been made with*, that’s an excellent way to both self-incriminate and demonstrate that she was fully aware that what she was doing was illegal.
*Any sane answer to “how do I hide my search history” is “you can’t, and especially not from law enforcement,” which should have been enough of an answer to stop and think about what you’re doing.
yq can do both JSON and YAML :)
It’s not as useful, sadly. Nohup disconnects standard input, output, and error. With screen or tmux, you can reattach them later.
No idea, but I can tell you where they will be after President Elmo is done with them: defanged, and run by a one-man skeleton crew whose only job is to sweep the floor every Friday night.
Petty much. The big difference this time is that there’s a common enemy (Rust) instead of relatively isolated petty crap.
