1. I’ve used onedriver previously, or rather I do use it on my backup machine. While it works well what I’m missing is a progress indication for the download of files, I occasionally work with bigger video files f.ex. Also an option to keep directories synced permanently to the device would be great. In OneDrive you can check a box in the context menu to ‘make files available offline’. It keeps the file/directory synced and available offline. This is again useful for bigger projects. I could of course move those to a temporary location on disk but I do like the set and forget nature of working in automatically synced directories.

2. I assumed that’s best practice, thank you. What I find overwhelming is the amount of choice. Which is a general Linux “problem” I suppose. Yes, it’s possible and elegant to manage everything through the package manager and the default repos. But if I search for a specific program, like f.ex. a clipboard manager, I might just get recommended something that is not there. And all of a sudden I have an appimage. Or the nextcloud client for example, it’s on the flathub but only the appimage supports the above file on-demand feature.
   Btw, how can I be sure that software from the flathub is kept up to date? My understanding is that it’s often community maintained?

See my comment below, we’re moving to gsuite. Basically, we have a problem with people not using the SharePoint but instead sending poorly version numbered documents per mail.
My argument was that if you’re forced to work online you’re more likely to do so in the shared folder. We’ll see if that’s true but at least we can get rid of office. Most of the organisation is on macOS anyway. And we use zulip for communication.

Thank you! I probably could have been more elaborate in the op. But it doesn’t seem like people really paid attention to it regardless. I don’t just plop in a message I received and go with whatever response. I sanitize the received message of personal information as much as possible, then I let the LLM know what I want to say, and then use the response as a starting point which I’ll further edit. Admittedly sometimes I get something that is just bang on and I’ll copy paste. But it rarely happens since the model can’t match my personal writing style.

As you recognise, it’s still my thoughts and feelings. It’s akin to having a secretary writing drafts for you maybe? Not that I would know anything about having a secretary, ha!

The way I use it is mostly to get a starting point from which I’ll edit further. Sometimes the generated response is bang on though and I admit I have just copy pasted.

I debated whether I should write LLMs or AI. Generally I dislike AI as well, but choose it due to it’s popularity. Definitely share your sentiment though!

Your last paragraph is interesting! I can feel similar effects actually. I feel more and more confident in the way I would reply. Most of the times I know what and how to write, seeing that validated helps.

No actually! It’s not a problem for me to write text per se. Actually it’s a significant part of my job to write guidelines, documentation, etc.

What’s difficult about replying to people is putting my opinions in relation to the other’s expectations.

Maybe there could be a program where the guns aren’t just bought back but resold in conflict areas around the world. Think the middle east or select parts of the African continent. There’s always someone to support with some discounted small arms am I right?

How about 332 billion worth of small arms to Israel (worth at least double with all the sick optics and flashlighs). That’s a steal and I’m sure Congress could find it in the budget. Hamas would have no chance against some blinged out ARs.

I use adguard. Bought the app years ago and I couldn’t be happier. It’s especially great because some secure apps break with their traffic routed through it and it’s super easy to configure.

I keep offering my partner a way out via either a pi hole or (my current setup) adguard. They literally don’t want it. Why? It doesn’t bother them and sometimes you have to watch the ads for perks in games. Even tried to show them that you can have per App rules etc.

But no. It’s not a big deal. Using any of their devices gives me an aneurysm, I keep forgetting how bad mobile ads and browser ads are. Smh
