Or they know that there weren’t any “Good guys” around.
The Japanese war crimes are well known in the West. The US ones are routinely glossed over or ignored.
Wars don’t determine who was right. They determine who’s left.

Know when to walk away. Know when to run.
Democracy doesn’t have to be a tyranny of the majority. In its purest form it is. And that is why constitutional republics ensure citizen’s rights in their constitutions. We need a similar system for economy.
A sketch of that would a be a system where you’d have constitutional republic with independent legislature, judiciary and executive branches. Separated from the economic players as well as possible. They would provide the the outer bounds of a level playing field. Economy would a market economy, where ownership of companies would be distributed among the stakeholders of the system workers, customers and the executive. Similar to how governments ideally function. Workers would have “legislative” power in the company. They would be responsible for company policy. Executives would implement those policies. Customers would decide how well the company performs by either buying their products or withholding their patronage. This would need a lot of guard rails in place. But this would prevent centralization of power in the hands of an “owner”-class.
Transitioning to this type of system would not be that difficult. As most of what it has is already there. In western democracies. At least on paper. There would be a lot of resistance to this from the “owner”-class. I have no doubt of that.
For a growing economy with an excess of people and resources it’s pretty good.
Our current world, not so much.
The problem is that there isn’t a currently viable alternative.
The problem is that most heretic versions were intentionally and efficiently destroyed. The only ones that survived were by accident.
Most of the work on the Bible was done in a committee hundreds of years after the alleged events. So most probably just plain old fashioned alcohol.
If I ever wanted to ruin a megacorporation for ruining my life, I’d start going after the lowest wrung of the ladder. Give two warnings and then execute the plan on them. Non-fatal accidents and the like. Warn again. Move on to the next one. Warn them etc. Repeat as long as necessary. Never go for the higher ups that can afford security.
This will probably never happen to me, because I don’t live in the late stage capitalist hell-scape.
Be careful with this! Sometimes they use real tracking ids!
You can’t trust it even if the package exists.
The copy/paste thing has been true for years even before the Reddit API exodus. Also bot-farms have been active for quite some time as well.
If there is such a thing.
At least you got to experience that connection. Some people never get that. It truly is better to have loved and lost someone. Than not to have loved at all.
Lots of Internet hugs from here. Let’s beat loneliness epidemic together.
People who ride a bicycle next to cars are too tired. People who ride old bicycles next to cars eating pennies are penny farting.
This! A million times. Cancer treatments have come a long way in the last few years. Expected outcomes have improved a lot. And I mean dramatically. Stage 2 isn’t the death sentence you think it is (depending on the type of cancer). But you need to discuss this with your family and your doctor.
A long time ago I saw this conspiracy theory that the reason all public buildings (schools, etc.) in the US have an industrial size incinerator by law is to burn the bodies during a fascist takeover.
It was funny then. Not so much now.
About the same here. (Finland)
When I was younger I used to have these dreams from time to time where some mundane unimportant things were happening. Like walking through the parking lot of my school with classmates to go to gym class. And then it would happen just as in the dream. They would happen some days, weeks sometimes years after these dreams. And I would remember the dream in that moment and think ‘deja vu’.
It’s been several years since I ran Windows on any of my laptops. And haven’t run into any CPU issues yet. In my experience if stay away from the slim models and go for the more high-end ones you’re good.
This. Don’t buy consumer laptops. You can get secondhand business laptops that are just as cheap and more durable. You won’t get one with a touchscreen but that’s about it for the downsides.

But those civilian casualties aren’t in the millions unless you count the post war casualties. That makes the US a “Good guy”. Right?
