What is the shelf life for these?

Most recently I listened to the complete album “The Dark Side of the Moon” multiple times due to a misunderstanding about an emoji, buy otherwise i have been listening to Les Big Byrd, Mazzy Star, Molchat Doma. Mazzy Star is probably closest to what you shared, but certainly not the same. I was cleaning out my folks basement over Xmas and ran across some of my old compact discs , including some Townes Van Zandt. Looking forward to getting into those!

When I was a teenager, I worked in a garden department of a store. We had plants to water. The pipes for the water had shutoffs in the ceiling in addition to the faucets themselves. I was working over the weekend and needed to water the plants, but no water would come out. The ceiling shutoffs were open, but I had heard there was a master shutoff just inside the store.

So I went in and was looking around on the walls, following pipes, and found this very large pipe with a shutoff on it. It had a tag hanging on it that said “emergency test” but my teen brain thought this meant it had been tested and passed inspection.

I turned it on and went outside, only to find an enormous amount of water coming out a different pipe, some kind of drain. Not what I wanted! When I reentered the store, the fire alarm was going off, but I thought nothing of it, shut the valve, and went about my business. By the time I got back outside, the fire department was there.

About 15 minutes later, fire folks in full gear were in my area poking around with the boss. I asked what happened, and they said for some reason there was a pressure drop in the sprinkler system and it triggered an automatic response 😬 I told them what I did, and they said they were too old for this, and then left. Not a great decision for me that day…

It might depend on the town. I live in a small town, it takes me 15 minutes to walk to work, there is a gym closer, a grocery store a little farther, a bank, hardware, some restaurants. That is All very nice! But for the social things you mention, I would have to go to the next town, about an hour away by car. I go sometimes but otherwise enjoy solitude. And the internet obviously 🙂 I have never lived in a big city, but have lived in bigger towns, and the food options and social life are better, even at 5000 people. In the US, folks in small tend to be insular, but given time they will open up and be friendly.

I didn’t like cottage cheese until I was 38. I kept trying it, not sure what changed.

I am wondering about this, also. I have a regular watch, with a “plastic” band. Why would PFAS be used in these bands? Ridiculous.

Chattanooga, Tennessee did something like that, but when they tried to expand outside of the city they were shut down

Wow, I was considering switching to that from Mailfence but maybe not. Maybe I will look at the other options or sit still to see what happens over the next 30 days.

Ya, I live in the US (like this person), and there aren’t a lot of foods like this here. Nuts are usually a topper or entire, or are part of the name.

I’ve made baklava a lot in my life, even baklava ice cream. I never expected this amount of heated conversation about it 😬 This is something I am accustomed to, but I could see someone new to it not really understanding that these chopped up nuts that have been baked in a syrup are, in fact, nuts. Very unfortunate.

I ignored this excellent point. Definitely lots of folks who have street legal vehicles (or race in street legal circuits) that have to run gasoline and tune for that. Thanks for pointing it out 🙂

Not to further fuel the learned terrorists, but race gas generally isn’t gasoline, like your first statement. I don’t think any racing orgs allow pure alcohol anymore in the US, but some related form or nitromethane. Anyway, none of this belongs in a regular car, either 😬

Not 100% cartoon, but I really liked Mr Bogus. It may have been called different things in different countries.
