I’ve already had more than one conversation where people quote AI as if it were a source, like quoting google as a source. When I showed them how it can sometimes lie and explain it’s not a primary source for anything I just get that blank stare like I have two heads.

Is common sense just an earlier, naive label for confirmation bias?

I’m curious what the counts would be like if you added up the articles that quote a CEO, a labor leader, and both.

Unreliable in that it stops showing system tray message status when it updates without alert, using vdi/Bluetooth headsets are a crap shoot if audio will work or not, and destroys history by allowing corpo policy to remove messages after X days.

Their whole purpose is monopolization of advertising engagement to make money for shareholders. Collecting user data, building profiles, targeted ads, prioritizing rage bait and conspiracies and misinformation, hiding alternatives like open source software and distributed community supported software, are all in support of that goal.

If enough people do it at the same time it’s a strike, and firing them would cripple their business. If you’re in a position where you aren’t able to do that personally, and can’t change your position, there are other ways to contribute to organized labor. Plan for it well in advance, coordinate strikes to maximize impacts to supply chains and logistics, and when they try to negotiate in bad faith add more strikes. Look at the recent UAW strikes.

If they can shut down the government we can shut down our jobs and industries, how panicked would they be after a month? Pretty sure a lot of us can do a month or two of canned soup and ramen.

There’s a long history of strikes being very effective, less frequently in the US after 1947, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it or not going to be effective.

I’m from the Midwest, had friends go to check out the gathering, never had problems. They’re self proclaimed outsiders and anti-establishment and are generally sympathetic to minority groups. The worst I’ve seen from them is anti science and anti education getting wrapped up in their anti establishmentism, but they usually just want to get high and listen to music about horror movies and wrestling.
