Using loose instead of lose.
Using loose instead of lose.
I’m really sorry that you’re going through this. Everyone’s situation is different but I also have a strained relationship with my father that has lead to the tough decision for me to go low contact with him and give up on having a relationship for the foreseeable future.
I don’t know if this will help you but it helped me so feel free to take/leave as you like. I think the first thing you need to do if you haven’t already is figure out what you want the boundaries of your relationship to be and the conditions for re-engagement to help prevent him from hurting you again. Could be something simple like no financial assistance or expensive gifts, acknowledgement that the silence at your wedding hurt you, that kind of thing.
If he agrees to these then you can cautiously establish a relationship while making sure you enforce your boundaries. If he doesn’t co-operate or dismisses your needs, then it’s going to be very hard to have a relationship with him, you will get hurt. In that case I think your best option is to accept that you can’t have the type of relationship with him that you want, and allow yourself to grieve that loss.
As a disclaimer, I’m not a professional. Professional advice really helped me but this was still a multi year painful journey for me. Good luck and I really hope you can move forward and find peace with the situation however it turns out and don’t be afraid to lean on your support networks.
Fair enough, if you didn’t notice a drop in quality or whiplash character/plot developments all I can say is that I’m kinda jealous.
I will disagree with you on the fact that it’s normal for any show to become irrelevant when it ends. Shows that are good enough and capture audiences the way GoT did initially can go on to become much more and maintain relevance potentially for decades. It’s rare, sure, but I think the opportunity was there with GoT.
Ill news is an ill guest
GoT’s rise to popularity is almost as crazy as its sharp fall into irrelevance.

I think Tabletop Simulator is still the gold standard with a huge library of community made content.

I’m with you on this one I think. To me it’s like being super into WH40k lore or something. It’s totally fine to dedicate yourself to the god emperor of mankind and go to a club to meet with other people to deep dive into parts of the lore, I can dig that. But when you use it to attack other people it just seems childish and to claim that the reason for harm is your heresy because “the emperor protects the true faithful” just makes you sound silly.
Technically correct, best kind of correct.
Light a fire inside a big snowman? I don’t have igloo what you’re talking about.
I hope that’s true. We are not a nuclear power nor a NATO member so ‘strongest action possible’ should be quite impactful without any escalation from what Russia themselves have already done.
That seems like a speed running exploit
You might find the lectures from Harvard called Justice: What’s the right thing to do interesting. There’s also a book by the same name written by the professor that I’d definitely recommend.
Hey, that looks pretty fun
We are the Borg, you will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own.

Also one of the best foods in terms of satiety per calorie.
Your reality exists only in your own mind. But things can exist outside of your reality and there could be things in your reality that don’t exist.
Wait, how is she the governers former daughter?
No one gesture or action can fix race relations. Just as racism is a societal problem that manifests itself in many ways from tiny things all the way up to awful explicit actions, societal change needs to happen in both large and small ways. Things like having an ‘end racism’ banner by itself doesn’t do much, but it’s part of a collective effort to show that society is changing and to remind people that we need to and are doing the work to tackle the issue.
The only thing racism needs to thrive in society is for it to be quietly tolerated. Removing this banner can be seen as a backslide in that direction.
