The US stock market is shitting the bed, there is not a whole lot of business confidence being built there.
That said, Canadians are over invested in US equities and a reliable way to keep the pressure up is for Canadians to swap their retirement portfolios out of the US market.
No need to install puppet leaders when Canadians massively voluntarily consume American media.

I mean, good, the outcome is as intented.
People chose market solutions over harsh regulations and now the consequences for that are coming and many are crying about it.
I like the carbon tax and wish it was substantially higher. I live in an efficient way (condo living, bike everywhere, plant based diet) and from the people around me it sure feels like the carbon tax is far too low to make them reconsider any of their actions. I still see people constantly idling their cars for no reason and that’s the least of it.
I agree, but I’m not the one you need to convince, it’s Terry on Facebook who spends 2 hours a day complaining about bike lanes and vegans.

Because it’s an absolute waste of political capital to make happen if there isn’t a strong movement fighting for it.
He’s repealing the consumer carbon tax.
It’s easy to just shift the costs to the background by charging producers. The outcome is largely the same.
The increased Liberal momentum has boosted the NDP’s chance to win my riding substantially so I’m definitely grateful for that.
Carney seems like he’s open to electoral reform so hopefully this is the last FPTP election.

My MP voted for M-86 and I volunteered for them last cycle. I don’t really know what else to do.

Considering that there are Canadian companies that have contracts related to the f35 and they would almost certainly be cancelled or not renewed, running down the clock isn’t a terrible idea. The $300+m is already a sunk cost.
Canada has hummed and hawwed about electoral reform for decades. It just hasn’t been worth the required political capital to make it happen for any of the leaders.
This could be key to finally getting it done.

From what I understand though, FairVote is pro PR and I don’t know of any other sizable electoral reform organizations.
Banning it just causes them to be the victim.
Put a massive tax on all of the multinational american leech corporations that control our media. Musk isn’t the cause of the problem, he’s a symptom of it.
