Drag is going to try making sushi with avocado to balance the pH. Drag doesn’t like avocado, so we won’t be able to share, but we’ll both have sushi.

That’s much too interesting a topic for drag to talk about here, and drag doesn’t want to break the rules. If you use Lemmy’s search system, drag is sure you can find the answer on your own.

Using a neo-pronoun for 1, 2, and 3 person seems unnecessarily challenging. If you seriously think not understanding this non-standard use of language is transphobic I think you’re hurting their cause more than helping.

I had read about that. That’s kind of wild that not understanding or asking can be considered transphobic. I’ve never seen it take the place of I or you. This is new to me…
Iloveyhebomb is lying to you lol. The admin has repeated multiple times that mistakes, not understanding, or asking questions are absolutely fine.
The actual issue is that people were using pronouns as a reason to bring harassment to the instance and so the admin asked people to not engage with suspected trolls and to report them if causing harm instead. Ilovethebomb and others were just sad there couldn’t be more harrassment and got reactionary about it.
No, what I said was accurate. If you don’t do the neopronoun thing when referring to someone, and use they/them pronouns, they consider it misgendering them.
That is their stated policy, and they do enforce it.

They are quite understanding with honest questions, but they absolutely do enforce the use of neopronouns, and consider your standard gender neutral pronouns to be misgendering someone who wants to be referred to as Drag.

If Drag made sushi on a table instead of while riding a dragon, drag’s rice might be less sour.
Did you put rice vinegar in it? That might be why it tastes sour.

Drag’s partner hasn’t tried drag’s sushi yet, and is basing its opinion on store-bought sushi from America. Drag hates vinegar and would only put it in a recipe if absolutely necessary.
I think the store-made sushi usually has vinegar, which is sour, so if drag isn’t using vinegar, then drag’s partner might be OK with it.
If it’s still too sour, then consider the following, which tend to be a lot sweeter:
- Inari sushi - Inari’s pretty easy, drag can just buy the tofu pockets and then drag can fill them with rice.
- eel/unagi sushi with unagi sauce - Drag can buy unagi sauce in specialty stores.
- tamago sushi, i.e. with a mini tamago egg omelette over the rice - Drag’d have to make tamago bc I don’t think drag can just buy the omelette part, I only tried making it once but it wasn’t that tough to do. Anyway if drag makes them, then drag can adjust the sugar levels as needed.
Does drag use any rice seasoning? The store bought stuff is usually quite sweet imo, maybe drag’s partner likes their sushi with that.
